Why is it beneficial to collect a lottery jackpot as a LLC?
I've also pondered this question and have always wondered if you could claim the ticket in form of a percentage pool to avoid being double taxed. For example if my ticket won, it would be a lot better if I could claim 90%, my parents claim 5%, and my brother claim 5%. This would be my way of giving money away without being subjected to gift taxes. I don't even know if this is allowed because I've never heard of it being done this way. But I guess if you would do this, you might as well set u

Can't Feed the Pig when Uncle Sam & The Lottery Steals all the Food
Ok then please counter my post with example and fact. And if you really think my generation (20-30 year olds) are going to see social security, then you are kidding yourself. I tried my best to show the government gets 80% and the player will only get 20% of the total prize pool. Of course, it's not worth playing, but what I am saying it's the best running racket in America. No one plays to win long run anyways, however the fact is that the players get fleeced big time. I mean if everyon

How about this as a system?
A test had been done at rec.lottery, and it shows that randonness beats human picks for the most part of time. If you only play 10 bucks, its better to use random ones,as most jackpots are won in 10 bucks. A mature lottery pool at least needs constant investment of 250 bucks per time for 10 rounds, and may get a second prize. Hans

Same Mega Ball three drawings in a row...
Actually there is a simpler formula that maximizes each number played 260-fold. That means for every $1 dollar you spend you are actually wagering 260 numbers($260)....therefore you won't need to spend $10K A third of that amount will do the trick. I will be posting my 25 series of actual tests to demonstrate the behaviour of the balls to actual numbers waged. The hardest part of it creating the pool net into which the balls with enter. But it absolutely can be done. I've been riding a winning w

Mass. lottery store is success story
Sounds like a great place! Personally I'd pass on the smoking- a smoking section in an indoor public place is like a peeing section in a public pool - but the rest sounds great! I'd love to run a place like that. I'd have different guests come in, one day a numerologist, one an asrologer, etc....maybe even Madame Zelda herself!

Mega Million Lottery Group
You have to start with a basic set of rules and guidelines...no one is ever going to do anything if one person just says hey lets start a pool ...what are the rules? Check, cash, money order, credit card ?,,,no cash no ticket policy,,,who controls the names? how do I know you got my payment, are you just going with quick picks out of one city,,,you have to keep in contact with all the players, email reciept confirmations of moneys sent, send confirmation of tickets bought... You don't need t

A promise is a promise
I agree with tntea. I was brought up that giving your word and a handshake meant everything. However, people say all sorts of crazy things in the heat of the moment, whether it's out of excitement or anger. How many times has someone here said I just want to kill that %$#@! You really don't want to kill anyone -- at least I hope not! Millions of people also promise to love, honor and obey 'til death...well you know! LOL Yes, he has so much money now that maybe he should honor his promise, sin

$135M lottery winner to boss: "I'm out of here"
This time, his son bought him $15 worth of tickets, picking numbers Sneath suggested. The winning combination 4, 17, 26, 46 and 56, plus 25 for the Mega Ball were numbers Sneath once got as a random pick and continues to play. .....His son brought the tickets for him on his birthday..... If the people at work want to fight this the burden of proof is on them as his son was not in the pool. This is one of the best lotto stories. God Bless him!

$135M lottery winner to boss: "I'm out of here"
I'm always happy for the winner when I read these stories. It sounds as if he has a close family and good friends, but he was in a pool at work, so this story might not be over. Just my 2 cents here. Since this is MI, the state with the highest unemployment rate in the country, I'm happy he left right away. Maybe this opened up a job for someone else, maybe not. However, I don't have much respect for someone who works 34 years for a company, makes an excellent salary benefits, and then knock
