Ireland Lottery advertising claims under scrutiny
The Ireland Lottery has been told by an ad standards body to be clearer over claims that 90 per cent of National Lottery money goes back into the community.
The Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland welcomed Lotto chiefs' vow to to include a qualification, about the reinvestment of unclaimed prize money in future similar advertising after a complaint by an Oireachtas Committee.

The Ireland National Lottery is defending itself against criticism for spending nearly the entire amount of unclaimed prize money on advertising.
Premier Lotteries Ireland (PLI), the operator of the Ireland National Lottery, is dismissing claims that it did something wrong when it allocated an overwhelming majority of unclaimed winnings to marketing.

Someone that won a big jackpot many years ago sued his state lottery commission saying that advertising the annuity value is false advertising. Judge said he can return the winning ticket for a refund.
