That's a good question. I thought that was a done deal as of August 2021 but I don't recall hearing anything else about it. If you remember there were some lawmakers in Idaho threatening to pull out of the Powerball group of states because the UK and Australia were being added. For some weird reason they apparently thought China was being added also, even thou no one had mentioned China. After some push back from voters, in Feb. 2022 Idaho reconsidered and decided to remain a Powerball state. So

Only the Western Australia State Lottery is still run by the State. All other Australian States have have sold off the management of their state lotteries. The New South Wales Labor Party opposed the sale of NSW Lotteries in opposition. But, when they got into government, they sold it off.

I never participate in lottery pools because of potential problems like this. In Western Australia, the State Lottery, Lotterywest, is owned and run by the State Government. The other Australian States have sold off their lotteries. Lotterywest also has an excellent App, where people can participate in lottery draws. It is much more convenient than paper tickets.
