Scratching lottery tickets
Morning All, Does anyone else only scratch off the bar code to scan on the CA Lottery app. or in store? I used to scratch off all the symbols, but now only the bar code. Is it just me or am I getting lazy? Is it the excitement of a potential win to undercover what is under each symbol?

I've been in that Beneva Road Publix a time or two but never won anything buying scratch offs or online games for that matter. From a volume of ticket sales standpoint, Publix is definitely the place to buy because they're largest lottery retailer in Florida. No retailer in Florida sells more lottery tickets than Pubix. There's a guy in Texas who has a YouTube channel in which he scratches lottery tickets. He bought a 20 pack of $50 tickets for $1,000. He won $600 of it back. I wouldn't drop more than $100 if I was buying a bunch of scratchers in one shot.

Hi Keem - some Fl stores, gas stations and the like might accept a debit card -but not credit cards (suppose to be some law with credit card usage plus you could run up a big bill on a credit card and not pay the bill) ..... Publix does not take debit ....Wynn Dixie yes ......answers from places that do not take debit vary : we don't like to pay the fee.......corporate tells us no ..... and so forth, Some of my favorite places to buy take debit ....7/11 and most Sunoco gas stations ........

In Texas a pack usually has a guarantee of 50% of the cost of the pack, give or take, so a $10 pack costing $500 is guaranteed to return about $250. I wouldn't say the outcome is most likely profitable. Possible, yes, not most likely. I imagine scratch ticket odds are the same in any other state selling lottery tickets, but I haven't researched other states, so I may be wrong.

Someone could have cashed in their ticket that won a Free Ticket on the morning of March 20th, but because that was the date of the very first midday drawing, they may not have realized that the Free Ticket they were handed by the clerk was for the midday drawing. How exactly are lottery scratchers numbered in CAReply
I did did not look to see how California does it Edit: I just looked at the examples on the California website and I am guessing that California does book number and ticket number while leaving off the game number. So yyyyyyyy-zzzz my guess is y is the book number and z is the ticket number.
