I've been in that Beneva Road Publix a time or two but never won anything buying scratch offs or online games for that matter. From a volume of ticket sales standpoint, Publix is definitely the place to buy because they're largest lottery retailer in Florida. No retailer in Florida sells more lottery tickets than Pubix. In Texas a pack usually has a guarantee of 50% of the cost of the pack, give or take, so a $10 pack costing $500 is guaranteed to return about $250. I wouldn't say the outcome is most likely profitable. Possible, yes, not most likely. I imagine scratch ticket odds are the same in any other state selling lottery tickets, but I haven't researched other states, so I may be wrong.

Hey th199 ----- Duckman and Dracos each won $100K on scratchers ....... there was guy in Port Charlotte/Ft. Myers who won over 2M on a scratcher ....... said he bought dozens of books and hit the big one .......he might have been an EMT ? I don't think he ever posted the ticket but it was on Lot news ..... maybe 7-8 years ago ...... Duckman's was a $25 ticket - Dracos a $20 ticket and the guy in Ft Myers area a $20 ticket .... These are definitely paying out better than the actual tickets, for me. I've gotten 7 Jackpot triple play combo coupons, a $100, and $250 gift card. Have to admit, I havn't played much in a while - just no mood ..so I get out today and pick up four $100 wins - $300X and GRL and a win all Madness - looks like they're starting to come alive ! It DID come alive for a 31 year old who won a $5M GRL ticket a t a Publix near me where I'll buy tickets now and then ......if that was me with that win you'd have to call 911, because I would have fainted in front of the lottery counter ! Congrats on your lucky streak. I think the short answer is that there are some books that turn a profit, but it's a bit like chasing a unicorn. There are a fair number of youtube channels devoted to players scratching PA tickets. A few of them do entire books from time to time and I've seen them end up with a profit but more often than not, they end up counting themselves lucky to get half their money back. @Oldghost - To further clarify context for anyone who is reading/lurking...yes, good points for anyone considering playing either of those two games. By no means am I trying to assert that folks should senselessly/compulsively play these games. As you've pointed out, there are a ton of unknown variables here.
