There's something I cant help but wonder about. I just took a look at The Top Prize Winner and Retailer Report. Most of the winners are from the evening drawing (no big surprise there) but there are quite a few winners from the midday draw listed. (That's because there are multiple winners of very small jackpot amounts.) Are those players deliberately playing in the midday drawing, or did they buy their ticket in the morning thinking it would be good for the evening draw but unknowingly

Not that anybody cares, but I thought I'd share my thoughts on playing PowerBall. I don't play the game very often because the odds are ridiculous. I'd rather play a lottery game that players actually have a decent shot at winning. All lottery games carry very long odds so I prefer to get some bang for my lottery playing buck. While I was living in New York, I lived fairly close to The Pennsylvania border so I used to play The annual Pennsylvania Millionaire Raffle. The odds were 125,000 to

We will win big. I just know it! From your lips to God's ears!!!! (Or from this thread to God's ears) Thanks to everyone for the vote of confidence. When I lived in upstate New York, twice per month a lottery publication used to appear in gas stations and convenience stores along with all of the other various newspapers they sell. I used to pick up a copy of it every time it came out and I eventually subscribed to it for a year or two. It contained columns written by professional journ

Haven't playing lately.... Been busy with family and friends. I've also kind of gone into wait and see mode because the new drawing format starts a weeks from today. Wouldn't you think the Lottery's website would have something about the change? I've been poking around in it and there's nothing about going to two draws per day. In stores, I don't see any posters or signs announcing it. I'll probably play for most of this week as the number of times players can win a big jackpot grow sma

What we are really talking about here is Player behavior. IMHO players love FF5 for it's BIG JACKPOTs and LOW ODDS! It's as simple as that. Of course nobody will become a millionaire playing FF5, but a $200,000 jackpot win is a nice chunk of change. Players vote with their dollars. When something good disappears, so do the players. FF5 is a very popular game among Florida Lottery players. This two draws a day thing could backfire big time on The Florida Lottery. I hope it does. I dont k

Here's my scientific wild guess as to what we'll see as a big FF5 jackpot payout after March 20th - $300,000 take per drawing. That translates into $150,000 allocated to the winning prize pool. 62% of $150,000 is $93,000 (before taxes) So jackpot payouts will be about $85,000 to $93,000 before taxes and that's if nobody else matched 5 numbers. After a pari-mutuel split and taxes taken out, a players check for a jackpot win could easily be $15,000 to $25,000. Great. Just great. Gone are t

What my software really did was reveal to me that in a 5/39 matrix the hottest number of the year will have at least 60 hits. I've definitely seen an increase in matching two or more numbers, but I attribute that more to having and using the software than simply using the hot number. The software shows many other things that are a big help when picking numbers to play. I consistently win Free Tickets, and I have seen an uptick in the amount of three number matches I win. I've also had a few

I've never looked at playing the lottery in this particular light before but here I go! I'm trying to do something that's incredibly hard to do - and that's win a jackpot. I want to know what it feels like to win a big pile of money, but I also want the personal satisfaction of knowing that I put the very best effort that I possibly could into winning it. Sure I'd take a jackpot win with a Free Ticket, but all that would be is pure good luck. Most people that have won a jackpot won it with a

Years ago in New York, they had a online lottery game called Sweet Million. It had low odds to win one million dollars and it was not parimutuel. That big word (parimutuel) means if there was more than one winner of a million, each winner got a million . FF5 in contrast is parimutuel - if three people win the jackpot then the jackpot is divided equally among all three winners. One day, a guy won the Sweet Million jackpot. But he had played the exact same set of six numbers on his ticket FIVE

One more thing and then I'm done....... I bet with my head but NEVER over it. People can very easily get hooked on gambling. I've never bet more than I can afford to lose. I can afford to lose more money than I budget for playing the lottery, but I wont bet that much. Also there are times when I completely shut down buying lottery tickets and that goes on for various amounts of time. Some times I'll stop playing for two or three weeks, other times I might go a month without buying a ticket.
