Million Dollar Portfolio Challenge.
Anyone here taking the million dollar portfolio challenge on cnbc.com I'm giving it shot having never really invested on my own besides the portfolio's i had when i worked. I find it interesting for some reason. Since the game gives you 1 million fictitious bucks to play with you can find out for yourself how well you could do investing for yourself. First, you aren't reducing the number pool at all. Each of the 56 choices can be used in any combination that mixes odd and even. If you want to reduce the number pool to half you'd actually eliminate half of them from consideration. Whether you get rid of all the odd numbers, all the even numbers, 1 to 28, 29 to 56, or eliminate half of them at random, cutting the number pool in half means choosing from a pool of 28 numbers. Consider the norm to be six weeks from the date in which you claim. It will take a good healthy 10 days of banking clearence just to get the money funnelled thru. (thats two weeks right there!).
