Supposedly, it replaced the Hot Lotto game which was destroyed by Eddie Tipton who programmed winning numbers in for relatives, friends, and eventually himself when he worked for the lottery, and was caught and sent to jail. You can change this value to be as high as one less than the numbers in a single draw. Well, that's debatable. Personally, I don't believe the best way to get into any lottery drawing is with a group. The draw of the lottery, especially a game like Powerball, is winning a massive pile of life-changing cash. Getting into a group with perhaps dozens of others takes away the risk/reward ratio that Powerball offers. Really, if I wanted to have better odds of winning a smaller prize (think less than $5 million), I would play my in-state Cash 5 game. I don't need to worry about the
