We may seem stupid, but we're not CRAZY
New Jersey should be added to this list. For the jackpot drawing, California sold $35 million dollars compared to Texas I believe at $21 million and maybe a couple at $19 million others. The rest with double digit teens of millions. California just sells more tickets, but occasionally even small states like Delaware sell a winning ticket.

how to use world statistics in lotteries?
Comparing 2 or 3 similar large number lotto games like Mega and PB for a check of one's picks might be useful if hoping for a 4/5 or 5-0 win. For example, I checked last night's PB winner against the PB database and Mega database using the Delaware app for that and saw that the PB winning numbers had only produced one draw in the past with at best a 3/5. Checking the Mega database, there were 3 past draws that had at best a 3/5 winner with the PB winning numbers. This kind of check only seems re

Tax over $600 issue question
I had to send a couple of small winning tickets in to Delaware as I found I wasn't going to get back to the state to cash them anytime soon. I just got a check from them for $36. On the page below the check it says the following Congratulations on your win! For federal income tax purpose you will receive a W2-G in January following this calendar year if the winnings reduced by the amount wagered are - $600.00 or more and at least 300 times the amount of the wager, or the winnings are subjec

Why hasn't Lotto America been hit in ages?
There are 52 (1-52) white balls in the first machine and 10 (1-10) Blue Star-balls in the second machine. Draws take place same days as PowerBall. Like PowerBall, there are 9 ways to win with minimum prize being $2 and the second prize being $20,000 The All-Star Bonus goes up to 5x meaning non-Jackpot winners could win up to $100,000 The states that played the Hot Lotto game (E.G. Iowa, Delaware, D.C, Tennessee, Maine, etc.) take part in this game. Minimum Jackpot is $2

State-by-State Comparison: Scratchers Sales vs PB/MM Sales
I went through every US state lottery's most recent financial report to see how sales of scratchers compare to sales of Powerball and Mega Millions. Some states didn't have granular data available, but where it is available, you can see scratchers out-sell PB/MM by a wide margin. In two states (OR and SD) lottery sales are dominated by video lottery, and scratchers and draw game sales are just a drop in the bucket. Two other states (ND and WY) don't even sell scratchers. In all states, I did not
