Todd ,yes as a mother there no end to what I will do to protect my daughter, in case there are more to the story than just landlord tenant dispute. People just don't come shoot some one in their groin for a few hundred dollars when he could have easily paid it. Think about it. I am saying people as I sometime do get emotional about love ones, but the court of law is always the best choice.

I've run the office pool at two companies and we've always provided copies of the tickets before every draw along with the names and amount contributed by each participant. That way there is no dispute as to what tickets belonged to the Pool participants and what tickets were purchased for themselves personally. People who see our copies laugh and say it could only be created by a bunch of cpa's and attorneys which we are.

What I don't see mentioned here that I did see in other news, is that the sister that brought the lawsuit TORE the contract up after an earlier dispute and ceased playing with her sister. That makes it very clear to me that the winning sister didn't have to share her prize since this sister ended the agreement earlier and now is only suing since the other one won big.

For the most part, the lottery's rules are completely irrelevant to any contract that players may have about splitting the proceeds. The only significance of the ticket being a bearer instrument is that proving ownership may be difficult if there's a dispute. If there's a legitimate contract about how to share any proceeds, it will be proving the details of the contract that matters.
