Give DOSBOX a try. It will allow you to continue using most of your familiar DOS environment, even GWBASIC. If it seems to run too slow, check out the cycles=nnnnn command. And you can seamlessly use Windows tools, like Notepad, Excel, etc. accessing your output files from DOSBOX. So no worries about emailing or posting your results.

How to code a lotto program and best programs for lotto programming.
How do you plan to use your programs once you upgrade beyond Windows XP? Windows XP is the last version of Windows that can run MS-DOS programs without a emulator program like DosBox.
All my programs are written using GW-Basic but I still have a XP computer by HP that's over 10 years old. I'm thinking about learning Visual Basic, Liberty Basic or some other that will run in Windows 8 and rewriting them.

What software does a novice need to learn to write and run math analysis programs?
Josephus,
Download QB64. It's a 32/64 bit version of the original BASIC reworked by an internet poster named Galleon. It will run on XP/VISTA/Win7.
The home page will point you to the forums where you can download it and the wiki documentation. Almost all the original BASIC language has been implemented.
It looks and performs the same as QB4.5 or QBASIC 7.1, which you could still get. But don't bother. You would have to install a program called DOSBOX to run those. Not worth it.

Math Geniuses, Help!! "SLAG" Odd/Even Analysis - Chart I
Same here. The books go back to the turn of the millennium. The software (what I've seen) is dated 2015. I remember perdue saying they had an older DOS software as well. And I've seen some downloads for that. But to run that you'd have to install DOSbox.
Last I saw perdue he was on another lottery forum getting a group together to learn the program.
Considering you need the books to truly get a grip on the system, it makes more sense to order the book and build the modules yourself.
