Lottery petition attacks computerized drawings
A popular lottery Internet Web site is opposing a controversial industry trend head-on, in an attempt to eliminate computer-generated drawings from all US lottery games.Among the 41 states and the District of Columbia offering lottery games to the public, there are approximately 175 different lottery games. In almost every one of those games the player selects three or more numbers, and those numbers are compared against numbers randomly selected by the state lottery to determine who is the win

N.C. store owner accused of stealing winning lottery ticket
I also think the same thing about the people who drop $20 or $50 for a single raffle ticket only to never claim the $1,000 prize their ticket won....I see such listings in Illinois many months after the raffle. Why waste $20 when you don't even bother to go pickup your $1,000 prize? Heck, even if a person owes back taxes or child support, even in excess of $1,000, at least that is about $750 less that they will end up paying from their wages. But to the main point I noted from this story...

Mega Millions multi-state lottery to get harder to win in Oct.
Explain to me how this will bring more money? They don't have to bring in more money to make more money, they just have to pay out less of what they bring in and by upping the odds and elimination 0+1 payouts of $2 they will accomplish that.

British Columbia Lottery taking bets on US election
I am neither Republican nor Democrat. I follow my conscience and vote Independent. I vote how I feel based on what options I have to choose from. I voted for the Bush family twice. I supported the Bush War. I also voted for Obama twice. I decided last year in 2015 that I would never vote for Hillary Clinton. I considered Donald Trump, until he started running a Hate campaign. Thus, I have rejected Trump. I considered Gary Johnson, but I don't agree with some of his political positions, and he se

Lottery mystery yields clues to $7.5 million prize
By Peter Mucha, Philly.com Third of three parts See Part 1 and Part 2 Ever notice that instant lottery tickets are consecutively numbered? Ever wonder if those numbers could help in a hunt for riches? They theoretically can, at least in Texas. They helped us create a list, predicting the whereabouts of a missing $7.5 million ticket. A $50 scratch-off game called $7,500,000 Fortune started out with three top prizes among about 190,000 packs of tickets. Our list of likely susp

Georgia Lottery to conduct bonus Cash 4 drawing
I'm a little confused by what you mean. What's the difference between random sampling and pre-tests? I thought my post may have been confusing, what I was referring to is that if you do pre-tests, and only used statistical analysis on those real draws, it should be just as effective as if you used every draw, including the pre draws as long as no error was found in the machines during those tests. Although, I completely agree with the elimination of computerized drawing, not through fede

Tennessee may cap lottery winnings at $600 for poor
I think some here apparently think that all Welfare/Food stamp recipients are deadbeats who are too lazy to get a job despite the fact there are many single, tax paying parents out there who have children and do in fact work, sometimes more than one job and still need assistance be it food stamps or Medi-cade. The real problem IS those who are just comfortable suckling at the government teat or actually have kids so they can get more money and continue to receive it or flat out abuse the system
