Minnesota Lottery confirms technical communications error delayed $2 billion Powerball drawing
A telecommunications error more than likely means that a piece of networking hardware failed and went down. The lottery terminal at your local lottery retailer is just one piece of many pieces of communications hardware that's connected in a chain of other network communications hardware in between the lottery terminal and a datcenter where a mainframe or a powerful server resides . It's the mainframe/server that actually processes the data sent back and forth over the network. If any one de

Yeah, I've emailed them a few times before. When something happens I want to know why. I'm not believing that line about not having a TV crew available. This was a different guy from who usually answers. Usually the only time they don't post a video of the drawing on the Md lottery website is when there's a malfunction or operator error. Sometimes it takes a couple days for them to get back to you.

The ANY 87 pair is missing 32 games now I think. I will be trying to cash in on Sullys luck with the 123 and the 078. Also I have a gut feeling on the 178. I will check the pairs and import to excel tonite. I noticed an error in my data going to 2016, and it took me for ever to locate and it and it took even longer to fix it!! I am still trouble shooting but now my DSH formatting is all off, and I have to re -run the pairs filter, so I did not get a good workout in today. For Loose chang

Speaking of mistakes, NEVER refuse a ticket generated in error by a clerk. In upstate NY a guy walked into a deli and asked for a MegaMillions Quick Pick. The woman who owned the deli was behind the counter and accidentally added the Megaplier option which costs a dollar extra. The guy refused the ticket. So she bought it for herself. She matched five numbers and won $250,000. But because the ticket was a Megaplier ticket, she won $1,000,000. She lives upstairs above the deli. He lives j

$790 MILLION: Fourth-largest lottery jackpot in history to be drawn Tuesday
Unbelievable that the official Mega Millions website has been down all night, since the draw time! Lots of people on Twitter saying the site crashed , but that's not the case, given the error message displayed. It actually points to whoever is running that website has misconfigured it, so it's not crashed because of traffic, but it's offline because someone hasn't figured out how they messed it up yet. It's most likely that they were trying to put up one of those high traffic simple

definition of due, overdue and not due
The page has an error where they've switched the labels due and not due. If you don't believe me, look a the full table at that link and mentally switch the labels. The table is now coherent and consistent with their definitions, isn't it? From experience I would bet it's a tiny typo on one line of code among a few thousand lines. Sometimes debugging code is like looking for a needle in a haystack. And little errors can propagate all over the place! If you're a frequent user of that site

Mega Millions host calls wrong winning number during broadcast
Human error can still occur with computerized drawings because there still needs to be at least one human involved to manually input the draw results into the database. For security reasons, the draw machines are never connected to the lottery's network. California Lottery used to have some videos on their site that showed how they did all the computerized draws. Someone performs an action on a stand alone computer, and then the numbers are manually recorded, with several people around to witnes
