British Columbia Lottery taking bets on US election
Hey, remember when Donald Trump had investigators in Hawaii looking into President Obama's birth certificate, and he couldn't tell us the results now but it was going to be totally yooge when he did? MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell remembers, and in the wake of Trump happily nodding along with a supporter's assertion that our current president is a Muslim and is not even an American, O'Donnell questioned Trump Iowa co-chair and Apprentice runner-up Tana Goertz on when exactly we might see the results

British Columbia Lottery taking bets on US election
It would be nice to see a birth certificate with the name of the hospital in Hawaii what it was when Obama was born, not the present day name. Would also be nice if his college records weren't sealed.

$348 MILLION: April misses bring May riches
I agree on taking the annuity, but don't forget that the initial with-holding won't cover all your taxes. There's the remaining almost 15% you'll probably still owe. After full federal and state taxes, I'd be looking at 2.9 mil the first year. And spending a good chunk of that on a really nice house. The vacation condo in Hawaii might have to wait until year 2.

Some lawmakers say Hawaii lottery has a chance this year
I could see this as the reason why Larry Ellison bought that island. Hawaii get's a lottery, the native people then lease Ellison's Island and he gets a revenue share plus rent.

Powerball renews interest in Mississippi state lottery
Mississippi is one of six states that does not conduct a lottery. The others are Alabama, Nevada, Utah, Hawaii and Alaska. If you live in any of these states, you can play a state lottery, just not your own state. You can subscribe to the Massachusetts State Lottery by phone, they will ship subscriptions to your address, anywhere in the US.

N.Y. man accused of pulling box cutter on clerk after lottery mistake
I don't see how it was the clerks fault if the customer handed him a play slip already filled out with his own picks. I would have thought it was a computer error. I have on occasions filled out a play slip for a friend of mine who lives in Hawaii (no lottery there) and I have never verified the numbers. I simply paperclip the ticket to the play slip and leave it in the drawer.

Powerball ticket worth $338 million sold in N.J.
New Jersey has very high taxes, but not the highest in the country. I think Oregon has an 11% state income tax rate on individual net incomes of over $250,000. Hawaii also has an 11% state tax for higher incomes. There are several other states with high income tax rates, although New Jersey definitely is a very expensive place to live. If I just won over $328 million, I probably wouldn't worry too much about it, however.

The Domino affect is in motion. Alabama,Alaska, Mississippi, Hawaii, Utah will sooner or later get caught in the lottery avalanche. Out here in California we told the lottery is all about SCHOOLS and that is the hook they play. Who on this green earth does not want to help the kids huh?

Powerball jackpot a mixed blessing
The story says she won $8 after taxes so if she is writing huge quarterly checks to the IRS, it must be on interest or dividends. Or maybe it's income from the lottery advice book she wrote. It's not that difficult to change her phone number and have it unlisted. I agree with you about her wanting to live in Hawaii too. Bet she is hawking her book.

$9.5M lottery win difficult for Canadian chef
12. Avoid living in any place Obama has lived (I.e. Chicago, Hawaii, D.C., Indonesia, and Kenya) for various reasons. I'd like to hear those reasons. Specifically, I'd be interested in finding out whether they are legitimate reasons or just more Obama-hating bullsh!t that doesn't belong on a lottery forum.
