Has anyone ever had a ticket with the 5 winning numbers but in different lines?Reply
That's happened to me maybe a dozen times in my life, and as recently as this past Saturday. I did it on just 2 lines of Massachusetts Megabucks Doubler. I have a subscription for 5 lines of this 6/49 game. I got a 4 of 6 on one line for a $100 winner and a 2 of 6 on another for nothing. Had they been on the same line it would have been a life changing $10.5 million JP win!

Too bad Michigan doesn't roll like Massachusetts and sell their state jackpot game subscriptions to out of staters. I'd probably buy 5 lines for 13 weeks each while the JP is nice and big. I like the fact it's a 6/47 game and not 6/49 like Mass Megabucks Doubler. A little easier to hit the JP anyways in Michigan, but Megabucks Doubler has better lower level prizes.

I spent $2 on a self picked ticket. Then I heard that my older brother is going to Massachusetts for the week and I gave him $20 for tickets ( much cheaper withholding and anonymity by trust). He rarely buys a ticket so he got quick picks. My self pick got 1+PB while the QP's got absolutely nothing. Some people are just unlucky with quick picks, avoid them if you are one of them.

Exactly what I was thinking SC! I made the 45 minute drive down to the Massachusetts state line during the week of Christmas and bought the max number of draws (14) for 5 lines and ended up with a doubler ticket! Still looking for a win of any type at this point, but it's still early on. I like the 1 in 14 million JP odds a lot better than the PB winning odds. Good luck with your subscription.

Unfortunately not for Powerball, but you can for the Massachusetts lottery's Megabucks Doubler game. It is the only game available across the country by subscription. Hopefully, other state lotteries will offer similar subscription services in the future.

Bought myself 5 lines for 10 draws at the beginning of September last time I was in Massachusetts. Still haven't won anything, but I have 2 more draws to get something. This is a tough game to win anything, but I like that tickets are only $1 and the odds of winning the JP are about 12X better than winning the big national games.

Unless you had a system that guaranteed you would break even or better like the Michigan couple that traveled to Massachusetts to play its Windfall game before it was discontinued, it would probably be a waste of time. Most states will have a game with a large jackpot for its odds of winning sooner or later, you just have to wait and be ready when it happens.

Jackpot game top prize amount decreased?
The Massachusetts Lottery has a game called Megabucks Doubler. There was a drawing tonight for it, and nobody one. But I see that the top prize decreased instead of increased. It went from $5,078,407 to $4,962,530. What gives? I sent a question to the official MA state lottery on their twitter account asking them this and also through the lottery's website.
