The only way I have found to consistently lower the odds in PB or MM is to eliminate all prime numbers. Of the last 408 MM draws, this occurred in 1 out of 7 draws. If everyone stopped buying quick picks and made their own with a simple Bingo hopper, I don't think we would see as many huge jackpots. Most assuredly, more 5 of 6 winners.

Thanks for the interesting stats Winterhug....Only 3 winners since 2009 with $300M + jackpots involving birthday numbers..... But it does happen. If you read the list of winning states, you would know CA, FL, NJ and NY are not the only states that always win the big MM and PB jackpots. There are a lot other states that win also. AZ, NH, and MD have won several times. CA has won the most jackpots because they have the most lottery vending machines in more locations than any other state in the country.

When I sold tix for MM or PB jackpots that were high, there were 2 or 3 that told me if they won they would come back and give me $100 or some tip. Frankly, I didn't believe that and didn't give it another thought. And to expect a winner to come back and tip the clerk that pushed a button or ran a playslip on a terminal is rather absurd.

Sometimes I pick my numbers, sometimes I play QP's. But, the fact is the majority of jackpots in state lotteries and PB and MM are won by QP's. Games with millions of combinations.
