According to my retailer there is a new national lottery game coming
This was one of the highlights of the Monopoly pitch/presentation.....a weekly per capita potentially higher than Powerball from the onset. I personally don't know what sales will look like, but one of the top 5 lotteries in the country forecasts fewer than 85,000 tickets per drawing from their players. Roughly half of all lotteries in the U.S. have already signed on (preliminarily) to the game, but if they don't get full participation at launch it could start off with a whimper. The first drawi

Poll: New National Game October 19th - Will You Play?
Just wanted to update everyone and say that I have seen a copy of the final rules.
There were only a couple of changes, none affecting the matrix or how the game is played.
Namely, they will no longer refer to the jackpot as a jackpot, but rather top prize. No idea why, other than perhaps distancing from PB/MM due to the capped nature of the prize. The Club prizes will drop the Monopoly moniker (probably a trademark issue) and just be called Millionaires' Club prizes. Now there will techni

New Powerplay Multiplier is a scam (again)
A good rule of thumb is that when lotteries make changes (even tweaks) to their games they are rarely done to the players' benefit.
Using last years' data we would expect about 2 draws a year where the 10x multiplier hits.
I personally think it was a mistake for them not to change the 2nd prize in some way. They made it harder to win yet it is still stuck at the $2 million. At the same time I think the only reason they made any changes to the non-jackpot tiers was to make it look like they

Powerball changing in October to generate bigger jackpots
Very original date was April. They even started the process of notifying retailers etc.
Then, if you recall (last year), Monopoly Millionaires' Club played out as a disaster. It was for THIS reason (regardless of what lottery officials may say publicly) that they decided to push back the launch to July so they could do more market research etc. and validate their plans before jumping in head-first. Basically, they got scared. The July date was then removed altogether, because surveys indicate

Powerball is kicking it up-10 millionaires were made tonight!!.
37 newly minted millionaires in one night.
That sounds like a lot for one drawing, but wait until the Monopoly Millionaire's Club starts.
What? Oh. Never mind.

States pull the plug on Monopoly Millionaires' Club
Powerball will fail like the Monopoly Millionaires' Club lottery game. 2015 Powerball changes are looking similar.
They want lottery draw games to be similar to Instant Scrach Off Games, because they can't sell scratch off games through the Internet.
Minnesota lottery is facing a great challenge from law makers, since it started to sell Instant Scratch Off Games through the Internet.

Poll: New National Game October 19th - Will You Play?
Btw I was checking some of the participating lotteries' websites and came across this announcement posted on Texas' lottery home page:
MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB GAME STARTS OCTOBER 19, 2014. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS. And attached was an informational document.
It's pretty much the same stuff so I guess all the rules are set in stone already. Shame, I was hoping they would re-consider the jackpot cap

According to my retailer there is a new national lottery game coming
Couple more tidbits of info that came from MDI (part of the company that developed this game).
The jackpot will actually roll in $3 million increments, so it will be capped by the fourth draw. This is an improvement of 1 draw versus the previously quoted $5 million increments. The number of guaranteed $1 million Club prizes will increase by a minimum of 2 per draw. On a typical cycle where the cap is hit they expect well over 50 millionaires to be created; in longer rolls like 19-20 draws th
