Math Trick for P-3 The Old Man’s Zero
Dear Friends,Another noteworthy trend in Pick-3 draws is that the LEAST frequent of the numbers (after arranging LAST 30 days' data) either take the FIRST or SECOND position or tend to DOUBLE out, over 60% of the times! This POSITIONAL knowledge can be useful in reducing the number of unproductive bets, coupled with other well known filters and tricks/strategies. Do let me know if this trend tallies with your state Pick-3 games or if this trend is a GENERAL/WIDESPREAD one, so we can exploit it!G

Winning with Math only and absolutely no draw History
Many people on LP believe that math alone may provide timing for random events. For curiosity rather than need I did some simulations for math predictions without history for Pick 3. The results were consistent and very round. Therefore, until someone proves otherwise, I consider mathematical predictions without any base in history and statistics waste of time - I call them P P systems (Play Pray) as luck is actually the only measurement of their effectiveness. If you think odds in Pick 3 are

Mathematics and the Lottery
We were told pick-3 games were a bad wager because the lotteries have a 50% payout edge, but it also means the players are sharing 50% of the pot. Considering the fact they only drawn 0.1% of the possible combos each drawing, only 0.1% of the players are sharing in the pot. Some used traditional sound math to show the results of terrible betting strategies and sound math proved by using a terrible betting strategy a few made a profit. If a few players using a terrible betting strategy can sho

Xtra's Binary Formula, Pick3 solved.
Okay, LP. I'm certain that everyone who's read over these latest posts can see that there is a problem...a (3) way problem. It's been assumed that I've been trying to bait people in with a Pick 3 system and take their money...or whatever the case may be. For those who definitely know, how far is this from the truth??? I mean, honestly. Can anyone here on LP post anything from me describing a scam, flim-flam, or anything else to get money from anyone here on LP to play numbers on Pick 3??? I k

Lexicographic Numbers and a little math
RL, Thanks for your understanding. I think that some pick-3 or pick-4 players could contribute a bit with their experience with what actually works. Some strategies of playing are based on worst/best pairings of digits in some ranges. Does it work, I do not know. Adam

Pick-3 Box or Straight ??
Finally somebody offered a different outlook on Pick 3 than pyramid or other multiplying moo by foo and dividing by boo to extract poo strategy which always remind me of juggling zeros in any possible logical or mathematical way hoping that somehow, somewhere, someday they will sum up to 1. Some time ago one frustrated LP member called these strategies a dozen a dime but I think he over-inflated the price. Back to the topic - you have an interesting approach to consistent winning Pick 3. Y

In Need of Some Math Help Calculating Number Combinations
In a thread in the strategies section entitled Pick by Split I posted a method that I use to pick numbers that is based on dividing the numbers into two group multiple times and then choosing the number of digits that would make up the winning combination from each side. Here is a screen shot of what the application looks like: I mostly use this method for Keno and there are 184,756 combinations of 10 digits per drawing. It takes roughly 12 minutes of processing time per thousand records

Stats question
I guess you are talking about 16 combinations STRAIGHT for a Pick 4, because there are only 5 combinations BOXED: HHHH HHHL HHLL HLLL LLLL I Track this pattern in several states for the Pick 4 and Pick 3. I have noticed that on a monthly basis, in all of the states that I track, (5 states), the HHHH and LLLL Hit the LEAST. When these patterns do Hit, they normally Hit as doubles or triples (AABC, or AAAB). The HHLL pattern Hits most often on a monthly basis. HHHL an

Help on expected hit rate averages
Whats most fascinating to me is how every single Pick 3 game that I've ever tested performs very, very similarly from a probability point of view. Take any amount of consecutive games from any pick 3 game in the country and you will see very similar results when it comes to how many different combos were drawn and/or how many remain to be drawn. The 93.82% can be derived from the following formula. It will give you the probability based on n, which is the number of consecutive games played:

John Schofield's article in the Personal Finance section contributes a number of calculations to Maclean's Magazine. The expectations were based on the payoffs of the September 7, 1996, $10,000,000 lottery. At the time the amount was quite unusual. He used the amount $2,217,321 which was the jackpot a week earlier, and which is a more typical figure. Provided below are some useful information concerning Lotto, both probability calculations and strategies. Probability Background T
