Yes, I laughed quite a bit when Idaho first implemented the change. They stated that it was because they were looking out for the best interests of the player because the player ends up regretting not getting the Power Play option when they win a lower tier prize.

I believe you're referring to Idaho. They automatically force the Power Play option onto the player and up the cost of the ticket by $1. There is no option to opt out.

Not enough to stir their interest. They played because it was a billion dollars or more. That is what they wanted. They didn't even know what power play is so that didn't get played. A million is about 1/1000th of a billion. Didn't know about those prizes and didn't care. I want that billion only.

In looking in to this...there are definitely some anomalies. I have a tendency not to play these big drawings anyway. Who wants to stand in line with all the amateurs (oh man, I always wait for the drawing to get to 500 million before I play !).
