SLGCA records show that 362 individuals won high-dollar prizes 20 or more times during the 2020 calendar year. And they probably bought most of those tickets from someone that didn't want to fill out a W-2G. But it looks like SLGCA looked the other way when some people were cashing large jackpots multiple times for the real winners. If you think this is bad you should look at what some states did after this. There was a winner in my state (CO) that won a three way prize only to find out later they were the sole winner when it came out the other two winners were associates of tiptons. They sued the lottery for the other 2/3rds of the prize in a case that made its way all the way up to the ssc who ruled that even though he was the only true winner and entitled to the entire jackpot he was not to get it.

If you take $10 bucks from this weeks paycheck you can also earn more interest but I doubt anybody's dumb enough to think that means they got a raise.
