Audit opens up conversation about possible collusion between Maryland lottery players and vendors
Report reveals lack of investigative procedures for high-winning individuals
By Kate Northrop
A report conducted by the Office of Legislative Audits in 2022 revealed security concerns that suggest possible collusion between lottery winners and vendors in the state of Maryland.
The report, published and viewable online by the Maryland Department of Legislative Services, reviews a fiscal compliance audit of the State Lottery and Gaming Control Agency (SLGCA) between Jan. 3, 2017 and

Audit opens up conversation about possible collusion between Maryland lottery players and vendors
SLGCA records show that 362 individuals won high-dollar prizes 20 or more times during the 2020 calendar year.
And they probably bought most of those tickets from someone that didn't want to fill out a W-2G. But it looks like SLGCA looked the other way when some people were cashing large jackpots multiple times for the real winners.
Forcing players to prove they bought a winning ticket or making rules against buying tickets as gifts, not much they can do to prevent it. The thing is, most

Six tickets each win $100,000 Mass Cash prize at the same store on the same day
Although I cant remember when it happened, a guy in Massachusetts played Mass Cash with ten identical lines and won a million dollars. Was less than five years ago that it happened. It was reported in The LP news.. too lazy to search for it.
The Mass Lottery is correct in that it happens frequently. When I lived in New York near the Massachusetts border, I used to drive over to Great Barrington Mass and buy Mass Cash tickets where I bought multiple identical lines. I did that because I read

Lottery rigger Eddie Tipton released on parole
If you think this is bad you should look at what some states did after this.
There was a winner in my state (CO) that won a three way prize only to find out later they were the sole winner when it came out the other two winners were associates of tiptons.
They sued the lottery for the other 2/3rds of the prize in a case that made its way all the way up to the ssc who ruled that even though he was the only true winner and entitled to the entire jackpot he was not to get it.

$1.9 BILLION POWERBALL JACKPOT SETS WORLD RECORD OF UNIMAGINABLE WEALTH
Did you mean PB instead of MM in your first paragraph?
That or I had a stroke instead of a minor brain cramp.
Why THRIFTY why??
If it gets hit and I'm not the winner I'd at least enjoy seeing the pandemonium, and finding out how many people actually play 1,2,3,4,5,+6.
279,269,971 tickets were sold for 11/05 drawing and with a 95% chance, someone should have won.
Did you forget about duplicates? Sales were actually about 269 million tickets. That uses 60.17% of the combinat

$610 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot largest in ten months
i'm never excited. ha ha, you're so right, like my dad call it a rip off, when 1 or 2 people win over 100 million when that large, Multiple in many states should be winning at least 4 numbers and PB or 5 numbers a million each at least, but they don't.
So, i don't really play it, nnnnope. RARE.
better odds that is not a rip off PICK 4.
yyyep. love the story again recently here, as on net, man put down 30, another put down 100 or 200= Tens and thousands off a few bucks, #J

$1.9 BILLION POWERBALL JACKPOT SETS WORLD RECORD OF UNIMAGINABLE WEALTH
Currently it's just #2 on the cash value rankings .
If you take $10 bucks from this weeks paycheck you can also earn more interest but I doubt anybody's dumb enough to think that means they got a raise. As of now the official forecast for MM is that when the drawing rolls around on Monday night they'll have sold just under 95% as many tickets as they did for the record jackpot in January 2016, coming up shy of an actual record. Maybe they could offer the cash in Pesos and claim it's 19 time
