Since March 20th when two drawings per day started, the evening drawing has had an average of $144,255 for the jackpot amount. The biggest evening drawing jackpot won by a single winner was $159,400. There have been 14 evening drawing rolldowns (no jackpot winner) out of the 50 evening drawings held since 3/20/2023. I also get the fact that ticket sales for all lottery games is way down these days. You can see the effect of the high cost of groceries and gasoline on lottery ticket sales just by looking at the amount paid out for any FF5 jackpot. Saturday FF5 jackpots are $10 to 15 thousand dollars lower than they were last year. The reason FF5 has as many jackpot winners as it does is because the odds are low. Playing FF5 these days is almost pointless. There have been a total of 148 drawings (both midday and evening) since the midday drawings began. 60 of them (40.5%) were rolldowns. (No jackpot winner) The average total jackpot for all 74 evening drawings is $137,965. Many of those drawings saw multiple winners. Something else with regard to jackpots being won..... FF5 players in Florida are pretty smart. They like to play the same set of five numbers more than once. In the first quarter of 2022 some smart player in Largo played the same line twice on the same day. If there are other jackpot winners besides you, then they pay the price for you being so clever. There's something I cant help but wonder about. I just took a look at The Top Prize Winner and Retailer Report. Most of the winners are from the evening drawing (no big surprise there) but there are quite a few winners from the midday draw listed. (That's because there are multiple winners of very small jackpot amounts.) Are those players deliberately playing in the midday drawing, or did they buy their ticket in the morning thinking it would be good for the evening draw but unknowingly

Now that there has been two drawings held, I think we can see the pattern for what the future holds as far as jackpots go. The midday draw jackpots will be low, and the evening draw jackpots will be substantially higher. (Last nights jackpot was almost three times higher than the midday's) My guess is that FF5 players will catch on to that very quickly, and as a result will wait for the midday draw to happen, and then buy their tickets for the evening draw.
