The little firm that got a big chunk of D.C.'s lottery and sports gambling contract has no employees
The Greek company Intralot, which last month received a $215 million contract to bring sports gambling to the nation's capital and to continue running its lottery, says more than half the work will go to a small D.C. firm a condition that helped the gaming giant win the no-bid contract.
The firm, Veterans Services Corp., will perform the ENTIRE subcontract with its own organization and resources, according to a document signed this summer by a top Intralot executive.

Pennsylvania Lottery struggles to attract bets on virtual sports games
The Pennsylvania Lottery has more than 1,850 outlets with screens displaying virtual animated football and auto races. The odds of finding someone watching a bet play out on the simulated sports action is pretty low.

Cash4Life multi-state lottery game goes daily in July
Starting July 1, you'll be able to play the multi-state Cash4Life lottery game on a daily basis.
The New York Gaming Commission Monday gave its final approval to the change from twice-weekly to daily drawings. The change was needed to conform with the eight other states that offer the game and have approved daily drawings.
In its current format, Cash4Life has drawings on Mondays and Thursdays.

One lottery ticket sold in California wins $530 million Mega Millions jackpot
Somebody in California just added half a billion dollars to their bank account.
A single ticket, sold in San Diego, claimed Friday night's $530 million Mega Millions jackpot. That comes with a cash option payout of $345.2 million, according to contest officials.
The winning numbers were 17, 19, 27, 40, and 68, with Mega Ball number 2. The Megaplier was 3.

Virginia lottery jackpot winners can stay anonymous, starting in July
A new law passed by the Virginia General Assembly and signed by the Governor prohibits the Virginia Lottery from disclosing information about big jackpot winners.
The bill was unanimously passed by the House, and it passed the Senate in a vote of 34 to 5. A similar bill was introduced by Senator Lionell Spruill, Sr. who represents part of Chesapeake.
Governor Ralph Northam signed the bill into law on February 27.
