The Pigskin Challenge

1. A challenger must declare himself to be a participant in the challenge for the current PowerBall drawing when posting his numbers. Don't forget to do this. Otherwise, your efforts will count for naught.

2. A declared challenger must select a field of at least five numbers and no more than sixteen numbers from the 5/53 matrix of the PowerBall game.

3. A minimum of three draw numbers must be matched in order to be in contention for meeting or beating the current benchmark of the challenge. (Sorry, no one or two number matches will be considered for equaling or surpassing the challenge standard.)

4. Additionally, in order to equal the challenge standard, the percentage of numbers matched from a challenger's chosen field must be equal to the percentage established by the current title holder (that being 30%) with no rounding up of percentages.

5. In order to be the title successor, a challenger must match three, four, or five numbers AND have a percentage of numbers matched from his field which is greater than 30% with no rounding up of percentages.

6. The percentage of numbers matched shall be the number of balls matched divided by the number of balls in a challenger's selection field with no rounding up of percentages. For example, the current standard is a match of three balls from a selection field of ten balls, so 3 divided by 10 equals a match percentage of 30%.

7. The standard for the number of balls matched and the percentage of numbers matched from a challenger's selection field shall increase as established by each title successor.

Good luck,

aye'

I'm entering the The Pigskin Challenge for Saturday's PowerBall drawing with a field of nine numbers. For me, nine numbers will work better for the amount of coverage  I want in putting my combinations together. I'll be using the same red PowerBall number with all of my lines. My number selections are as follows:

    1-6-7-11-21-22-28-38-53

    Good luck to all challengers,

    aye'

P.S. - I hope the new guidelines for the challenge are acceptable to everyone. I tried to revise them to accomodate participants with more flexibility while honoring the benchmark set by pigskin and promoting improved prediction skills. Be sure to read all the rules and follow them carefully.

I'm glad that all of you found the new guidelines for the challenge to be satisfactory. I sincerely hope that the new rules will promote lottery prediction as a serious pursuit in addition to advancing improvement of prediction skills.

Do any of you remember the old TV game show called Name That Tune ? For some reason, I can envision this challenge evolving into something akin to the Bid-a-Note segment of that game.

Actually, I'm shooting for being able to narrow my selections down to six numbers. I wouldn't have any trouble at all getting complete coverage into play with a selection field of that size.

Good luck to all challengers in tonight's drawing,

                aye'

It appears we were looking at the same "Chart." (wink)

We are very close with the number's we both picked.

We all managed to catch some numbers, but pigskin's record remains intact. The PowerBall game's 5/53 numbers were 29-32-39-45-53 .

                      kbcherokee: 1 from 12, 8.33%; 4-6-14-17-18-22-27-29-35-36-46-48

                      pigskin: 2 from 10, 20.00%; 4-5-15-17-20-23-29-38-45-48

                      JAG331: 1 from 9, 11.11%; 6-10-12-16-17-19-35-42-45

As one of my PB number's, I had #16 also.

I know we aren't figuring the Powerball number as counting for any of the number's but that might be something you could add as a different part of the Challenge.

Keep the 5 to 16 number challenge as it is, but add the Powerball challenge on the same spread.

                        Just a thought...

Great work with the red Powerball, Chief.  Those were some tough numbers last draw.  I hope we do better on Wednesday!

Aye...Apparently the Chief wants credit for hitting the PB and I feel he's probably right.  Maybe when we list our white ball selections we can list say 3 or 5 PB numbers.  But if we do, we should set the same number of PB listings for everyone.  What do you think?

I think a prediction on the PB is good.  You can only match it once though, so the rules might need to be a bit different.  Aye, this is where Name That Tune comes in!  Wink, I can name that PB with three selections...or something like that.
