Wow, I didn't know CT had $30 scratch tickets!

Well, that has CT's best odds. But $30 is a lot for a scratch ticket. It's good thing it's one of those multi-game tickets.

They've had them for several years now (I was down there on vacation in '02 and had a $30 winner on a $2 ticket and decided to take a plunge - no luck, though).

Ouch. How many 1 million dollar payouts does it offer? For ten bucks in Illinois they offer a possible million dollar payout. Three payouts per print, if I am not mistaken.

              GoArmy, Jag:

On the CT and IL million-dollar games, are they cash, annuity w/cash option, or (like NY) annuity-only?

All three $1,000,000 payouts are still unclaimed, listed on ctlottery.org.  The game just started a month ago.  CT had another $30 game back in '03 with a $500,000 payout.

One of these days there will be $50, $75, and even $100 tickets. I hope the $100 tickets take, like, all day to play. Or offer up $10,000,000 top prizes.

that won't happen for many years, and even when it happens, $10 million won't be that much anymore. remember that there are states that just started selling $5 games.

i agree. lotteries are getting way too greedy with their ticket prices. sure inflation is up, but if we are going to pay more for a ticket, then we expect a better return. if i was to shell out $30/ticket, i expect a top prize of somewhere around $5 million to $10 million.

Exactly Doc. The 1st prize better be the largest ever of any scratcher, AND with those $20-$30 scratchers, they better pull the game outta the stores when there's no more 1st prize wins left. It's one thing to leave the game in the store if it's a $10 or less scratcher, but $20-$30?! Yea right!

think about how mad you'd be at yourself if you were to purchase a $30 scratch-off ticket and not win anything.
