I would hate it if oregon had that high of scratchers because I would not buy them.  And the top prize usually is bad for that high of a ticket.

just a few years ago there were states that did not offer $5 tickets.

I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

You guys have it all wrong with wanting a 30 buck scratch off to have a 10 million dollar prize.  I would rather have ten 1 million dollar prizes offered at reasonable odds then one ten million dollar prize at horrible odds.  You guys complain that the 30 dollar ticket you bought was a loser, but do you know how many 30 dollar losers would have to be sold to pay for that ten million dollar winner>  This is where some lotteries need to change.  They sell the hype of the big jackpost when they should be offering more lesser grand prizes that can still help people change their lives.

P.S.  If you are in Illinois buy all the Merry Millionaire tickets you can find.  There are still 2 unclaimed prizes and only about 300k tickets left out there.  Odds of 150k to one opposed to the million to one listed ( as long as the winner isnt holding on to them. )

exactly. granted i do not plan on buying a $30 scratch-off, but the principle of the matter is the fact that $30 scartch-offs are not introduced out of player demand, but out of lottery greed. the lotteries don't really care about compulsive gambling or how much players fork down at a chance at becoing rich. lotteries care more about the profits from those tickets. the states that offer $30 tickets very likely only have one top prize, and there's a good chance it will be won in the early stages of the game. remember that some lotteries will still offer a game after all top prizes have been claimed.

i might buy a 5 dollar scratch off every blue moon, but i'll never ever buy a 30 dollar scratch off even if i was told it had a 70 or 80 percent chance of winning,i ain't taking the chance period,30 bucks is way too much for a scratch off,i guess them are for the haves not the have nots.....

then why would they offer a $30 scratch-off in KY, where the population is somewhat poor?

The $1 million prize in Connecticut is lump sum.

eh. $1 million just isn't as much as it used to be.

for a $30 game, the top prize should be somewhere around $5 million-$10 million.

That sounds more like it, but I would still not play alone. I'd probably pool it.

i would pool it too, and $30 scratch-offs should have a guarenteed prize of $15.
