We've all seen it-

Bonus numbers that keep having large values for way more draws than thier supposed to.

More odd numbers than even numbers in draws for extended periods of time.....

So which way do you bet? With the trend of what's been going on, or by what should be due to come up?

You are a slave to the choices you have made.  jk

I always used to think whats due is the way to go, but those that win big at gambling ride hot streaks and get off losers.  So in my old age I am starting to play more of what is hot then what is not.

Depending on the particular game, I follow any prevailing trend for as long as I think it can reasonably run or until it does indeed end. Trends are basically short-run phenomena which are hard to account for.

Overall and in the long run, I try to back up my bets with what's due because there seems to be a more mathematical rationale for their occurence even though that might sometimes take quite a while to be born out.

          thats good...!

i too follow trends, but it's not my sole basis for finalization. it really depends on the game and what type. i've found out over the years, that trends have  a tendency to depart rather quickly, and on the same hand can come back just as quick.. it definately is a tool in which to start with though...!

I didn't vote because you didn't include "both".  I like some of the others that have already responded, play both!  Right now I'm playing the "trend" for each state that I track, but I also keep any eye open for something that is way over due.  That is usually pures or doubles or 2-digit repeat.  I keep charts on the number of skips between certain dvents and I look to see if the current situation is over the midway point in the chart.

For instance.  Here is the chart for Texas' 2-digit repeats.  It is way overdue for a 2-digit repeat being on skip 16 right now.

i kinda go with what's due. i look at the previous draws, and determine if i'll play my numbers or not.

I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

I think you can have limited sucess with either method - but in the end it's all random.

I got a tendency to go for what's due. The trend can stop any time. But I mix hot and cold numbers.

                        Thanks johnph77.

An excellent link. I think the indexing as suggested won't fly as suggested. However, a delta and summary method to indexing might . A couple more things to do on my end. But, this one is on the list of to do's.

                          johnph77,

As I stated in the older thread, I look for patterns.  I started to add an index code to winning numbers in my Ohio649 file.  The index code assigns a character or letter for the first previous draw that contained one or the winning numbers (A=one draw back,B=two draw back,G=seven draws back, Z=26 draws back  and etc,).

The last eight drawings of Ohio649P

                           03/02/05 -  02 13 18 26 35 41  -    DEIKKT
                           02/26/05 -  09 39 40 44 45 49  -    ABBOQS
                           02/23/05 -  07 10 34 42 46 49  -    ACCFFG
                           02/19/05 -  19 28 29 40 44 49  -    ABDFMN
                           02/16/05 -  22 24 33 35 40 43  -    BCCFFH
                           02/12/05 -  03 26 34 42 44 48  -    AADGOW

I'm starting to see some similarities in these patterns, for example an [A] in most of the codes  indicates that most of the winning number had at least one number from one draw back.  I'll be checking to see if some patterns are more common than others and maybe start using them to formulate a trend or pattern for picking combinations to play.

Since I've included the routine in my program, I can check MegaMillions (another lottery that I also track) for similar trends or patterns.
