I voted "Yes" - but here is a clarification.  I would countinue to work until I had the actual money in hand.  Then I would make the decision about continuing.  I've given this a lot of thought in the past, and I think simply knowing that I could quit if I wanted to, would sustain me for awhile.  I like my job (IT department at a software company).  Most of my friends I know thru work (been at the same company for 25 years).  Why give that up?

Why would you work? Work is Work not life.... experience life with true freedom and the burdon of having to work.... You will get another job and that is to controll you money that in itself its own job. People lose their money all the time. Lotto winners are the worst at keeping it. Be smart. Why work for someone else when you have to take care of yourself you close family

If I quit "work" after I won a 100+ million jackpot, I think I woud get bored pretty soon. I would instead study further and try to obtain a job which I would enjoy. Also, making sure you retain your new found wealth for years to come is a job in itself.

I would definitely go back to school to take a couple of finance classes and maybe accounting. Even if I dont manage my wealth, I would atleast know what my financial planner is talking about and decide if his decisions are in my interest.

But just knowing that I have a 35+ million (after tax) cushion to fall back onto would certainly help me excel in whatever I do in the future; there would be no more financial stress.

          I would continue to work.

To be able do that you would have to like your job or get a job you will like.

If you got a boring factory job I can understand you would consider

          quit the job.

There's a difference between working for a living and living for working.

If you got all the money you ever need, you can pick the work you chose

because that's what you want to do and work for the social life it gives

you: After work parties, go to the pub with colleagues, etc.

I would have no pleasure of having my intellectual capacity ruined by not

having anything sensible to do during the day.

If neccessary pick a part time job so you can enjoy the money also.

I would probably wait a few months until after I collected my winnings before quitting my job.  I'd collect the money anonymously and would wait until the excitement of a ticket bought locally winning died down.  If I up and quit right after the money is collected, that would definitely draw suspicion.

Managing all that money would be a full time job in itself.  In addition, I'd take the time to do the things I wanted to do.  I'd spend more time working with my computers, my ham radio, geocaching, and maybe some other things.

There are just so many things I want to do and don't have the time to do them.  Having all that money would give me the free time to do them.

I'd work for something to do. You'd get bored if you didn't . If you spent your money travelling all the time ,eventually you would get tired of that as well . You could start your own business or volunteer work.

Not just stay home all the time.

of course I would work since taxes will eat through your winnings. By work I mean investing in risk capital.

My work would be staying on top of the money and keep playing the powerball and start playing mega millions more often.
