Todd, I think New Mexico uses the ping pong balls.....

Here is the link for lottoMike's info on the computerized and the ping pong ball states..for the Pick3

http://www.lotterypost.com/thread/94617/3

it's near the end of the thread

Sandy,

Sadly, NM changed to computerized.  They have a substantial amount of space devoted to the subject on their web site on this page: http://www.nmlottery.com/News/RNG_FAQ.htm

      • Texas (100% true lottery drawings)

True Drawings: Cash 5, Lotto Texas, Mega Millions, Midday Pick 3, Pick 3, Texas Two Step

        Computerized: none

You got Texas right, but that could change later maybe (They seem to want to).But I hope not !

Their email to me in the past 2 weeks said they have no immediate plans to go computerized on any of their drawings.    WTG Texas!!

      Good luck to everyone!

By the way, for those who didn't see my post in the petition thread, I'll repeat it here:

Anyone who has never seen a computerized drawing should check out this link.

It's a Minnesota "drawing" conducted by computer.  After watching the video, you decide:

        • Is this what you want?

        • Do you feel confident that a fair drawing was conducted?

        • Is this worth the savings of .0001% of the lottery's budget every year?

        • Does this make you want to run out and buy a ticket?

GA has one computerized game, Quick Cash keno which could not feasibly exist otherwise.  Been in existence for several years.

          Quick Cash

Every 4 minutes, 20 numbers from the field of 1 through 80 are selected and displayed on the Quick Cash monitor.

Will also add that for a very long time Quick Cash results were available only from the terminal or trekking downtown to examine them.  For anyone questioning how it feels to play a computerized game where you're wondering who's in control of the results give that one a whirl.

          Good luck to everyone!

I verified that Colorado uses a computer for both Lotto and Cash 5 games.

NY's Quick Draw (and other keno games every few minutes) is/are drawn by computer.

I'm sure RI Hot Trax also is a computer game.

                    JAG331,

Yup, that's the reaction that most lottery fans have after watching that nonsense.  It is really startling for those who are accustomed to seeing a real live lottery drawing.  And that's why I started the petition.  I definitely can't imagine playing as often if that's what awaits me each evening.  (Actually, I can't imagine playing at all, but I know I'd break down occasionally, so I'll settle for "as often".)

Everyone who mentioned a Keno-style game that is drawn several times during the day is correct: those are almost all computer-selected.  However, we're not really focusing on those games, because most people expect that frequently-drawn Keno-style games will be computer-based.

Here's a list of games that I do not have information on yet (I need your help!):

I said in a previous message that all BC games are done by computer, and that all Tri-State games are done with balls.

And Todd you are right about Mich. When the "new classic lotto" came out I asked them about it being computerized and they responded that it was and so were the cash5 and keno as was the winfall...and I responded " no wonder no one wins the jackpots" and to my surprise ( LOL ) they never responded to that
