I won the Lottery this year for over 25 Million, beleive me when it happen I was pretty prepared about what to do with it. For so many years I had done research on people who had won, and I just basically learned from their mistakes. I also encountered friends who had come into inheritence, or insurance money who just blew it. So when I hit it, I was in a state of shock for a instance, it was like I was in a dream state, like I was watching this happen to someone else. It was quite a experience. I opted for 26 installments because I am pretty young (45) and I really need this money to be around for a while. I read Susan Bradleys book, "Sudden Money",which helped me a lot. It was like taking a class on dealing with getting the money, and being responsible and not foolish in your decisions in what you are going to do with it. I took her advice in many areas; but most importantly with " The Decision Free Zone" which is just taking the time to experience the fact that you have that kind of money and getting together that team of advisors.  I sat on the ticket for two weeks without telling anyone, and I mean anyone. I did a lot of praying because I wanted to tell people so bad, but I knew what the consequences may be if I did that, I knew eventually I would have to tell them, but that would not be the time. During those two weeks I did a lot of additional research for a reputable law firm, so I ended up going with a firm that has a preety good track record, and representing politicians, and some celebes with big pockets, so I knew I could not go wrong.  I said a prayer for protection, and guidance, and went into my appointment at the firm. When I first told them they thought I was joking, but I made it very serious and told them that I will take my business else where if they were not interested, they ask me how much was it for, I told them over 25 Million, I was connected  immediately with a law partner, he asked me some questions, I was set up for a appointment, showed them a copy of the winning ticket, since I had the real ticket underneath my mattress at home, and the game was on. I was concern about their fee, what other services did they offer, etc. They explained all that to me, but told me not to worry about it right now, let's just take one thing at a time.  When the time came for us to go to the Lottery Head Quarters, the Law Firm asked if I would be coming alone, so I got kind of nervous that I did not tell anyone, and that I was going to keep all this a secret, and said no I would not be coming alone, but that I would be coming with someone else. The lawyer explained the reason he asked was because they would be taking their private plan to the head guarters, I responded and said would that being coming out of my pocket or theres, the lawyer laughed and responded that it was on them. Yea right, it is all about business. I ended up not calling any friends about this and being true to what I intended to do, and that was not telling anyone right now. I made copies of the ticket front and back, and saved it. I said another prayer before I was picked up by a limo with the lawyer inside and we went to the headquarters. It was a great experience, and no I still have not told my friends. I was living on disability, so I am waiting for the first installment. I am in no rush. My team is in order, with Gods Hand. I have been very blessed, more than words can ever say, I live a very simple life. I don't brings a lot of attraction to me. When the time comes for me to receive the first installment they will know that it is just a blessing from god and no other details. When it was put on tv and in the papers, friends were not sure if it were me or not, and the reason was because they assumed if I was still walking places and taking the bus, than I must not have gotten the Lottery. They thought it was somelse with the same name. It is all how you carry yourself.  Good Luck To All The Future Winners, IF You Put God First, Many Things ARe Possible, Money Is Just A Tool, And Nothing Else.

Must have been Florida since he's in Miami.  You could probably look at the FL jackpot wins for $25 M this year and find the exact info.  Can't be that many $25 M wins in FL this year.

I see it's his first post.  Might well also be his last.  Nice of him to stop by and make the post.

Maybe he won in another state and moved to Florida as the guy from Chicago who was killed by his greedy sister-in-law and her boy friend last month.

Certainly leaves the impression the person hasn't moved, hasn't done much of anything different than previously.

Evidently the person hasn't gotten a check yet, in any case.

That can't be. He says he took 26 annual payments, and Florida Lotto has either been 20 years (at first), or 30 years (the current payout). He must've either won Mega Millions or another 26 payment game, or is lying.

The person sounds credible enough.  Might be lying, I suppose, but if so it's a believable job if 26 payment annuities exist somewhere.  Might have lied about FL, which would make sense.

Yaegerj strikes me as a person named Yaeger, first initial j.  If that's the person's real name I'd say it's a lot further than I'd go in that position.  But making the post at all is a lot further than I'd go.

No way of knowing what a person's going to do, nor why he/she might do it.  Maybe just excited about winning, can't tell friends, but dying to tell someone.  Strangers on LP might be better than nothing to scratch that itch.

Florida lottery has an extensive data base which list all it jackpot winners and back in may there was one lotto jackpot over 24 million. http://www.flalottery.com/lottery/news/may122005.shtml  ..

You can work your way through all the listings and see if you see something different . The person should have received their check by now though on this win. If in fact that it was the win in the link above.

I'm hoping that one of our regular posters will hit it big real soon so that we all can fell really good about somebody's win. What I mean is that we won't have an inkling of suspicion about the person who is writing in. Only a good warm congratulatory feeling towards that person because he or she is familiar to us. We won't be afraid of being scammed or shammed.

Anyway, lol yaegerj, I hope you are telling the truth. And good luck with that!
