Konane:

NJ only offers complete Quick Picks.  You can't QP just the Mega Ball or just the five numbers.  Therefore that QP means the whole line was a QP.

I was at the store and realized that I forgot my betslips that I normally use, so I opted for Quick Picks -- a very lucky mistake.

Lucky - being in the right place at the right time.

Would you have won anything if you had played your betslips instead of the QPs?

Good question.  I would have gotten a 3+0 and two 0+1's.

Continued Good Luck betting for the big Prize.

Thank you.  I will be remembering to bring my betslips tonight when I get my tickets!

The difference between luck and talent is in who is holding the ticket. If I had that ticket, I am convinced it was 100% talent that led me to that machine. (Congrads on the luck Todd!)

No special talent is required to bet with a QP, however matching numbers on the QP with the numbers drawn is Luck. (Better known as Luck of the Draw)

Talent (a natural endowment or ability of superior quality) is consistantly picking and betting on numbers that match the numbers drawn.

The lottery is all luck.  You can't accurately predict what balls are going to come out of the machines.

Nothing in nature (or man-made) can be perfectly random. It's just hard for the human mind to look at a field of numbers and tease out subtle patterns. QP is far more random than the draw machine.

The bar codes on the tickets are in binary. They are probably a translation of the serial number which the agent manually enters when the machine has trouble reading the ticket.

If anyone wants to see the ticket when I got the Pick-5, let me know, I'll post it also. It's from 2002 though.

Last night I only got a 3+0 and two 0+1's, but it was nice to have all my tickets paid for with winnings.

Congrats! You are getting like me on the 'lucky for life' now. Smiley I hate that when you start seeing matches, and then you are so rudely cut off later. Mad But money is money eh? I also hate it when that ONE pesky number away keeps you from some major life changes. Been there done that several times.

I wonder what your reaction would have been if you would have seen this?

Yes also whenever I get a losing ticket, bad luck is the reason. But when I win, my awesome "skills" came through yet again...

Wow nice. Was that for 4 out of 5? Don't tell me the "dreaded one number" away from the jackpot? Did you have to split a larger jackpot with a lot of people?

Guess what, that was FIVE of five. I had been checking a bunch of tickets that were a week or so old and came across it. I first checked against my own database and hurried over to ELE7VEN a few blocks away. When I was told the amount I thought it was only 4 but yes it was 5.

Interesting side note: the SAME NUMBERS came out AGAIN!!!! a few weeks later! And the same thing happened again a year or so ago where a whole set of numbers repeated! The 2nd times were always relatively small amounts. The next hit after mine on those #s paid only about 4G.

The numbers must have been played by several people. It was also before they allowed rollover.
