The term "desperate" was more of sarcastic term, or more a light-hearted one used to describe a dedicated lottery players 'passion' for winning, and wanting to win. However some people are indeed financially desperate, and sometimes in danger of losing even more money than they already have through the lottery.
I have overspent many times, but I do know when to stop, even though it is very difficult. It is tough to stay on a budget and sit out drawings. By doing so you are only prolonging your agony of just getting by in life. When you lose more money you are also prolonging it, and making it worse. Thus leading to the spending of more money, for more tickets, for more chances. Because you are fed up with the BS every month. Then if you do not get any paybacks, you are hurting.
Then is why I chose to create a lottery budget so that I could save up for more plays one time, as opposed to playing every draw. Only problem is I am still throwing money in each draw, as I do not want to miss even one opportunity. Even though I cannot afford it. The lottery is kinda like a poison, and does not provide much hope often. Most are in a hurry to win it, including myself, as each day that goes by you are not getting any younger. There just never seems to be enough time, or money.
I just wish I could win the thing already so I could stop spending money on it already. Or at least not as much... Once in a great while possibly, as the lottery has become a hobby for me. But I will be doing far more productive things with my money for quite sometime first.
