you just keeping that thought, casie...............that they are random.........because that is what they want you to think.

They are not as "Random" as most people think.

Not on Texas and probably not any-where either, I have many times looked at many states draws, they didn't look so random to me, but hell, I don't know anything.

LiLSpeedy, I live in FL and 1927 has been extremely hard to get for years especially boxed. I assume it is a popular birth year with alot of retirees here and it hits the cutoff quickly.

Until I got on this board, I didn't realize that numbers get blocked. Interesting. I don't know much about the Play-4 payouts, but according to the history on its website, Florida has paid over $4.8M on one day on 4 numbers.  Yes, I agree there are a lot of people living here who were born in 1927. Here are a couple of dates it came up and paid big:

                   date                   numbers                  winners                     total payout

When 1927 was capped, was 2197 still available or do all boxed form of a number get capped also?

0000 was sold out a few weeks ago  1927 is a odd # why would it sell out

1927 was the year Mrs. King was born.

0825=8:25 was the time she died Pacific Time.

These numbers came today in Cash 3/4.

On another note, I watched the homegoing services for Mrs. King and when Bernice gave the eulogy and she mentioned the number 8 being an important number in the her mother's last final days. I talked with my mother on the phone afterwards and I mentioned to her about Bernice mentioning the number 8 repeatedly and my mother and I mentioned 888-800 . I didn't think about it anymore and I didn't play those numbers but I couldn't help but think about the strange coincidences after 800 and 0825 came midday.

Don't forget to flip those 6's/9's.

When the limit is hit, that's it for all forms of that number.

Has any number that has been capped ever actually won in a state where it was capped?

Yes.  When the quad 7's hit, it hit the limit and 8 million was the payout.

I imagine 777 and 7777 sell out quickly in most draws. It's almost like "dead money" to the Lottery Commissions.

                        Thanks Toney,

At least with pick4 you have 715 box combinations while pick3 only have 220, so it's more likely to happen in the pick3 drawings.
