The Mega Millions lottery set a new 2 roll record of $31 million for the March 10 draw.  The previous Mega Millions record was $25 million.

The Powerball 2 roll record is $29.2 million and was set in the current jackpot run.

Both multi state lotteries are setting roll records.

Good luck,
Jake

The Powerball 3 roll record is $40.4 million and was set in the current jackpot run.

    Good luck,

The MM jackpot hit a new record, but did sales fall in the current draw Jake649?

Sales increased since the last draw up to $20.5 million but this is a little more than the first drawing of this run at $20.1 million.  Usually at this level we are at 16 million so sales are still running higher than normal.

The Mega Millions lottery set a new 4 roll record of $56 million for the March 17 draw.  The previous Mega Millions 4 roll record was $43 million. This is a $13 million increase over the previous record and is larger than the current 5 roll record of $53 million.

The Powerball 4 roll record is $50.7 million and was set in the current jackpot run.

One of the main reasons for the roll records for both Powerball amd Mega Millions is the rise in US interest rates. The cash raised by tickets sales is allowing for the purchase of larger then normal annuities.

          Good luck,
          Jake

Yeah, but even the cash jackpots are probably setting roll records.

Yeah, but even the cash jackpots are probably setting roll records.

Sales for the first 4 draws in this run are $79.3M.  Since the matrix change, the largest sales for the first 4 draws of a run are $67.3M.

It is difficult to explain, but indeed the sales are way up.

Speaking of annuities, there is a real possibility of MM passing PB in cash value, even though the advertised annuity for PB will be much greater.

Yep, once again, the 30 small jurisdictions just can't compete with 12 of the biggest lotteries, especially California.

Oh I see now. Interest rate hikes made it possible. So basically lower interest rates mean lower jackpots? I hope MM keep this up by rolling until it passes Euro Millions in Cash Value and PB in annunity record.

The Mega Millions lottery set a new 5 roll record of $68 million for the March 21 draw.  The previous Mega Millions 5 roll record was $53 million.

The Powerball 5 roll record is $63.5 million and was set in the current jackpot run.

                      Good luck,

Wow sales are up a lot.  Lower gas prices maybe.....people have more disposable income?  If you look sales are way higher at the lower levels compared to before.  I mean look at the jackpot.  We are $15,000,000 higher than the previous record and we are only in the $60 million range.  It should be interesting to see how sales are when we get back up to $200 million which shouldn't take long.

No, interest rate hikes mean higher annuities, not lower cash jackpots.

I hope MM contines to roll and set new records. With the current record of 68 million, it surpasses $65 million for roll #6 if nobody should hit. If this keeps up, sales will get it to 200 million faster by keep rolling.

Judging from previous rolls someone will hit it before it breaks 200.
