What is the point of posting this public? I believe this should be a private business transaction, and public humiliation will do little good. Especially if you are able to revoke the account access back to normal anyway. Not taking the side of the alleged crook, but I just believe posting it public is unprofessional, and does not do much except try to attempt to turn all the paying members against this "bad guy" which comes off as childish. Kinda of like screaming "He didn't pay! bash him everyone!"

I think that posting something like this is a preventative maintenance tool. Alot of people look at this site. Just click on " Who's online" and you'll see a ton of guests just perusing.

A good tool to prevent just one more thing from happening in the first place. Sort of like a filtering proccess. LOL

As far as the hassle, In my case of driving an airport limo service, If I'm handed a credit card at drop-off, I don't leave the premise until I call it in and verify it's clearance.

In my case of hassle was to go back in the hotel and hunt them down, when a card was no good. They wouldn't answer their phone. Not exactly the same scenario as Todds, but just as annoying.

1 out of 20 cards are no good. I spend enough time taking the credit card info down, now I have to spen more time trying to locate them , so It dosen't come out of my pocket?

Well there will always be people out there looking to exploit your business. If anything at least it teaches you how to patch some holes up in it.

I think you make it a point to disagree with everything I say, just because you like doing that.

Considering that you have to deal with spammers and other miscreants this isn't a surprise. Even paypal can have problems for vendors that use it. I wish I could give advise on how to prevent people from stiffing you but I've seen it done to almost every business.

Do you really think mike44usa or mikewhathisname will be humiliated?  Or will he just change his name to mikesomthingelse and continue to use the free service?

                Todd,

Were you at least able to trace his IP address to block it?

I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

                    Todd,

I understand your frustration. I am also a paid platium member and I don't really use the services that I could however, I do agree it is here and it is up to you to take the advantage of it. I feel I could have remain a standard member but this site has really impressed me with the maintenance involved. Thanks Todd I will continue to pay even if I don't take advantage of the features. On that note he or she since Mike can be a male or female name (ie Micheal or Michelle) might have felt the same way but unjust don't profit.

It is a good Idea, and I had to do it on my site one time because someone was stealing from me so I found the culprit and blocked the address. Just one little note though when you do this you can block other people from your site too because IP address change unfortunately and my hits went way down again because it blocked other people too(opps). But it did work for a while anyway because once they were blocked for about 2 months they never tried to come back on.

                          Good Luck Todd!

There are no holes to patch, it's not something that is the fault of the business person and we can not do much about it, the problem is the person who does it to the business person! I am glad Todd exposed him from one Internet Business person to another hey we can all look out for that person. It's not very pleasant to get stolen from! Also us business people would be the first to get hung if we pulled crap like that to customers!
