That is so true, Emily.  I posted about 5 comments today and about the same yesterday.  But on Mon & Tues I was exhausted and didn't feel like turning on my computer at all when I came home from work.  I think I still responded to a couple of posts, however.  (addicted?)

I often think I should stay off the internet for a week or so.  But (1) I have insomnia so it keeps me company late at night like Mike wrote and (2) when I'm checking my email, reading the news articles, or paying bills, it's too easy to say "I wonder what's up at Lottery Post?" Then I forget all about the time until I see the sun rise or my head drops (whichever comes first. lol)   I wonder if the internet has an energizing effect!  However, I should probably spend some time cleaning my apartment before the dust mites claim squatter's rights.

I used to have trouble sleeping, but found a cure. It really works.

Cook an eggplant till soft. Smash it in a bowl with a cup of smooth peanut butter, and a cup of vinegar. Mix well. Refrigerate for 20 minutes and take out of the refrigerator. Add 2 tsp of nutmeg, 3 tbls of black pepper, and a cup of garlic powder. Mix well until smooth.

Next add 1 cup of flaxseed oil and 1 cup of liver. Finally add some anchovies. Mix well and eat about a cup of it.

        That should work.

Side effects include abdominal pain, vomiting, headache, bowel movement problems.

If you are nursing or pregnant, consult your doctor. If you are taking blood pressure medication do not take it.

Ask your doctor before taking any advice from a snake oil saleseman.

I'd rather take 10mg of Valium but eggplant is much easier to get.

I have a question for you, Pac.  How do you stay asleep while you're vomiting and experiencing diarrhea?  I hope you live by yourself.

No problem justxploring. I have a bed pan on the floor next to my bed, and plenty of toilet paper. If I get up and go to the bathroom, the sleepiness goes away, so I'd rather keep the utensils next to me.

What happened to Floridian?  Sounded like a very nice person.

Edit:  Just went through this thread quickly (there are 7 pages!) and I see I already asked this question.

I also would like to find Jack (Rip Snorter) in case I win the lottery some day.  I had planned to fly to New Mexico to have a drink with him and debate some issues!

I guess we all fade away from boards at one time or another.  I used to frequent Delphi and then some Yahoo boards.  I haven't visited them in years.

I voted other...there are many reasons why people shift from one interest to another so I won't attempt to quantify or qualify those reasons...but I will say that when I win the jackpot, you can be sure that you all at LP will be the fourth to know...of course, my God would be first, I second, my brother third.  But after that, I really wouldn't be able to promise that I would be a very active member since I would plan on doing quite a bit of traveling, playing golf at stellar courses, riding in my luxury cars, and of course, still working hard in my current business venture (most people only retire from those work pursuits that are not enjoyable and/or rewarding...case in point, don't you see how hard it is for any healthy pro athlete to retire from the sport they excel? Like MJ, Jerry Rice, Lemeaux (sp)!).

Get MONEY!!! Winning a JACKPOT lottery is all the HOPE and CHANGE I desire!!!  NOW give me MONEY!US Flag

The guy who won the presidency in 2008 really won the lottery...he is now millions richer, travels in first class style, and even has a staff that would be the envy of the richest Powerball winner (she has a staff of 2). Every night he goes to sleep, he probably plays the close of Dave Chappelle's Show: I'm rich beyatch!

Announcing a jackpot win on a discussion board, any discussion board, might be something anyone who did so could wind up really regretting.

                            Just my $.02

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

Cashman87 is missing and the reason i believe people leave is that they find the holy grail and don't need LP anymore.
