  I believe Ohio has won several times this year. Also, this win sets a record fifteen jackpots awarded in one year for Mega Millions, beating Powerball's record of fourteen jackpots awarded just last year.

  Whoever it is, you can bet that the winner will remain anonymous with a trust like the other Ohio MM Jackpot winners of this year.

  Smart lottery winners form trust to claim their winnings.  They send an attorney to the lottery headquarters to claim the prize in trust, so that ONLY the name of the trust is revealed.  And they tell NO ONE, especially relatives.

  If you ever win a lottery and you are single, the only person you should ever marry is someone who was truly in love with you BEFORE you won the jackpot!

  People can talk about strategies and gimmicks all they want, but unless your ticket actually matches at least 5 of those 6 balls, you are just another person who tried to win a game yet ultimately failed.

  The ticket was bought in Whitehall,which is on the south east side of Columbus.  The winner/winners haven't come forward yet.

  I doubt he was over that way...maybe in the western part of C-bus near campus, but not over at Whitehall. I was hoping you would say Springfield...then I knew I would be down to a 1:25,000 shot at winning :)

  Congratulations to Ohio on winning the jackpot. There was a possible winner in Ohio because the MB was different from the 5 WBs. Did the jackpot winner choose cash value or payments?

  What effect would having the MB different from the WBs be?  A winner is a winner, correct?

  In Ohio there is no box to check for cash or annuity on the playing cards.  The winner has sixty days after winning to choose either cash or annuity, if he doesn't than he defaults to the annuity plan.  The winner has 180 days to claim his prize other wise.

  RJOH...according to the USA Mega web site, in Ohio you have 60 days after filing a claim to make a choice between cash or annuity.  The infomation is listed under the Mega Millions FAQ in a grid outling how each state in Mega Millions handles the cash/annuity choice.

  I guess it comes down to what you meant by "sixty days after winning", the date of the draw or the date of the claim?

  The Mega Millions winner has come forward, Sean L. Harper of Columbus.  He used auto lotto (quick pick) and chose the cash option. Very quick to claim his jackpot.  Did not elect to form a blind trust as many winners from Ohio have done in the past.
