I saw James Brown in concert several times. He really knew how to put on a good show. I always loved to see him do the Camel Walk. Cold Sweat was the first record I ever bought in my life; it was on a 45RPM disk. I still have an extensive collection of his music on LPs. Hearing his music always takes me back.

James Brown was known variously as "Soul Brother #1", "The Hardest Workin' Man In Show Business", and "The King of Soul". He was certainly a nonpareil in the music industry: often imitated, but never duplicated. His influence in music will live on forever.

Thank you, JB. You gave us all a lot of good times and memories.

I'm with you.  The first record I bought was Mother Popcorn, and I was only 6 yrs old.  I'll never forget barely able to see over the counter and begged my father to get it for me!  And he did!  I loved James Brown.  His music and memories will live on forever!  He was soul music and definitely the "Hardest Working Man In Show Business!"  Rest in peace James,

I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of James Brown.

Those summer cookouts, you knew when you entered the driveway of someone's home & you heard the music of James Brown, that the party, the love, warmth, & the food was going to be at it's optimum best.

I have most of his live recordings on the 12 inch vinyls & the standard 45 rpms.

                  May God rest his soul.

Legendary Singer James Brown Dies at 73
                      Dec 25 4:15 AM US/Eastern

James Brown, the dynamic, pompadoured "Godfather of Soul," whose rasping vocals and revolutionary rhythms made him a founder of rap, funk and disco as well, died early Monday, his agent said. He was 73.

Brown was hospitalized with pneumonia at Emory Crawford Long Hospital on Sunday and died around 1:45 a.m. Monday, said his agent, Frank Copsidas of Intrigue Music. Longtime friend Charles Bobbit was by his side, he said.

As a teenager in the fifties in Alabama I loved James Brown's music then as much as I do now. He will be missed!
