I agree, I think he wants people to love him. A FEW bad decisions early on snowballed into everything else. I mean nothing hateful toward him; I only make honest assessments. I think he stayed in his hometown being he owns 3 businesses in the area and probably he likes familiarity. My philosophy if I win is, anyone wants anything, "where were you when I was poor?"

Love to nibble those bacon biscuits from the C&L Super Serve.

One can glaringly see the level of closed mindedness when reading some of  these *opinions*. How unfortunate that whilst we may have freedom of speech , some folks lack empathy or the ability to *forever* hold their peace til they walk in that persons shoes. Its so very easy to judge another actions and think themselves *above* such demeanor. Yet as my grandma used to say: Spit in the wind and you'll see whats on your face.

I saw the broadcast and a new level of regard went out to this man. He sincerely did love his grand daughter and I think his intentions got out of hand. He even professed as much. No where did I gather him *blaming* others or NOT taking responsibility for his inappropriate actions. He fully came to terms with that. Maybe I watched the show with an open mind and saw a fellow who DOES value his family and DOES wish he could go back in time and have his family back.

No one can cure or stop a person who is addicted. The person themselves is fully accountable to seek help for such an ailment. Was he an enabler? Most likely. But he isnt responsible for the outcome of his granddaughers death.

~~Is it true, Is it kind,Is it necessary. ~~~

I certainly made a point to see the 20/20 report on JW...

It's not likely that JW or his family ever visit Lottery Post. If he or they did they would surely get a membership just so they could speak out in his defense. I certainly would. One problem is that stories don't match up or they sound far-fetched. Nobody goes to the nudie bar just to get a drink "to go" (to drink it in his car?) and you have several different people giving similar stories and he always gives a totally different story. The problem is he did get caught going to the strip club so that alone put him in a bad light because that was hard evidence. I loved the person he was right up to when he won and helped people. I'd rather be reading about that. After the strip club that's when all the crazy stories emerged. People weren't dying in his house before that. I think a lot of it stemmed from him starting drinking. Deep inside I feel that there is redemption for him somewhere and I like him no matter what. But I can tell you this if I ever win I will not start drinking nor frequent strip clubs nor be so generous.

Also some questions not answered: What bar were they showing inside of on the 20/20 show? I saw some photos of Pink Pony that I had not seen and we had even visited the area once. It was interesting the one time we visited that area including the C&L Super Serve which turned out to be nothing like I imagined it. We also went to Caesar's in AC a while back and looked for the slot machine he supposedly invented but no one knew anything about it there. I would be honored if I one day meet JW. One thing though I think people that ask him that they desperately need a new Hummer they are idiots. I think he started out with the best intentions and when people threw it in his face he gave up on himself and started the downslide.

Things I liked on the show - got to see what Brandi's "genie bottle" looked like, got to see the sign with "Pink Pony" on it, and some of those oddball requests from people wanting stuff. But I think they could have done the whole hr. on him and still not covered everything.

LckyLary:  You mention that "it's not likely that JW or his family ever visit lotterypost"

Well, I have to disagree with you as I have had correspondence from members of his extended family through PM's on this website/post.

Just because YOU say it is not likely..  doesn't mean that it is true. Far from it.

i watched it and i do feel sorry for anyone who loses a member of their family to death but he should have tried tough love when he knew she was spending the money on drugs and he should have made her get a job and not given her anymore money and cars. i dont blame jack w for the death of jesse tribble because im from tennessee and they have discussed how jesse was already on drugs at 12 years old down here before he even starting dating jacks granddaughter so now jesses dad wants to blame it all on jack and thats not fair he as a parent should have done a better job when he knew his son was on drugs but he didnt care because he knew how close his son was to a millionaires family and he wanted the money. jesses dad said she was the expensive presents and he didnt like it at all but jesse was a minor and he could have stopped him from going up around jacks family if he really didnt like what his son was doing with the family. they have a pending lawsuit against jack right now and jack tried to pass the buck of blame by saying she was a responsible child and thats why he kept giving her money but if she overdosed how can he say she was responsible with the money? i dont think he wants to take any blame for any of it really but i also dont like to hear lottery winners say they wish they had torn up the ticket and never claimed it. id rather hear them say they wish they had given it all to a charity or given the ticket to someone else because you should help people in need instead of tearing it up...Rant

This is just food for thought, I really feel sorry for the guy and everyone who was involved in their own situations. Jack and THE Money can't be the blame for all that happened. We are all going to have to give an account for what WE DO!, it is called our works. Here is a poem:

        A certain rich man

How can you count your minutes,

tell me what you are worth today?

Did you help anyone along your way?

When you lay down at night do you feel ok?

        Everyone wants to be rich,

without the Lord you are just

        another miserible wretch.

How can you convence the world,

        that you are so great,

you are not even worthy to bow before the King,

and yet the King of all Kings died for you.

As you look back at your works,

        I hope you are proud,

remember when you did not get your way,

        how you were so loud.

You did not mean to be so arrigant.

You managed to fit into a catagory all of your own.

You thought all people were for sale.

you thought everything was about you.

Remember when you get so loud,

the poor are chosen of God.

If you don't straighten your life out,

you will just be another certain rich man

        without any name.

It is not good to be poor,

but it is better to be poor with God,

        than rich without God.

Jesus Christ is the only way,

        you will find peace today.

        Amen

I agree with the Game grl. I really don't think he could forsee what someone else will do, not even his Grand daughter, I Believe He truely Loved her. After watching 20/20 I believe his intentions for his grand daughter was good, He just had no way of knowing what direction people will go in life.

I never heard of the good things he did such as helping people pay off their homes that were going to loose them, I have been close to loosing my home but by the grace of God I did not. I would like to encourage him to quit bragging and flonting around all that cash and consider all the good he can do with the money. There is so much good he can do if he would focus on it. I struggle in the construction business and I know what that is like also. I am a Christian saved only by Grace! When sin abounds Grace abounds greater, but it is never meant to be taken for granted.

The Best thing you can do Jack is to put away the excitement of your winnings and the bragging and come back home to the Lord. We are all going to give an account one of these days for our works.

You said you were a Christian once, well as long as you have breath take advantage of it and try to do good in this God Forsaken World. With that kind of money you have you can sure do alot of good, and I believe you will be required. Much is given Much is required.

Terrible things happen for the Love of money. Just remember who you worship.

I hope you realize your name is Jack and not just a certain rich man before it is too late.
