It has been my experience so far that most systems that play for boxes play at a loss over time. The key is finding a good system for straights.

There is about a 70 percent chance that a previous number from the last drawing will show. Maybe less than 70, I'm not sure, but even then, I'd have to play all three from the night before, unless it was a double then I'd only have to play 2, but playing all 3 would cost 300 bucks.

I have a better solution. First do a 50/50 filter. The first 500 and the second 500. 000-499....500-999. See which one is over due in each position, and then you only have 125 combos to deal with.

5X5X5=125

Then do the one digit thingy. Now pick a number from the previous night's winning number, but do not pick from the same position. In other words, if you play the first position, then pick a number from last night's 2nd or 3rd position. Rarely does a number appear in the same position the next day.

So it would look like this. Let's say I pick the 3 from the middle position from last night, and I pick low for the first, high for the middle, and low for the 3rd:

3 5 0

6  1

7  2

8  3

9  4

350   351   352   353   354

360   361   362   363   364

370   371   372   373   374

380   381   382   383   384

390   391   392   393   394

25 combos.

Ok, this sounds like a real interesting topic.  I follow NY #'s and applied the idea to this month March & then February.  If I am counting right, using the 'pick a # from the previous play' for the first digit idea, here is what it looks like.

February had 11 which the first digit was a repeat from the previous play. And had 3 repeat first digits.

March has had 7 which the first digit was a repeat from the previous play.  And has ALREADY HAD 3 repeat first digits!!

Ok, and last nights # was 728, which was a first digit repeat from the morning of 737...

lets see if 2 or 8 is the first digit for midday today.  And since I was already going to play 789 & 234 for midday I will change the 789 to 879 & add 897 just in case....

And of course NY Lottery does somthing totally unexpected!

Midday # 764

So that makes the first digit of 7 a three-peat, in the SAME position!!!

And of course NY Lottery CONTINUES to mess with us players with a box repeat of yesterdays midday

746!!!!

which makes 7 a 4 out of 5 plays for the first digit....

You can probably play the front pair for 50 cents so it would cost you \$5 to play all the front pairs with that digit or \$145 for the entire month. Those 11 hits would get you \$275 or a nice profit of \$130. There are other betting strategies like playing a \$1 or more on some of the second position digits to increase the profits.

Ok, 173 came out last night in NY EVE.

So with the idea of picking one of the digits from that number and using it in the first position - I am going to pick '3' as the first digit which works good for me as I was going to play 234 & 123 anyway I will now play them 324 & 321 thus putting the 3 in the first digit and see how that works.

You better play 312 and 342 as well.

Well didn't matter as 776 hit last night (7 again in first digit!!) and then 678 midday today - SO the 6 did hit first digit from the 776 last night..... gonna try something strange, playing the 6 to hit first digit again tonight - 632 & 695 ..see if what the 7's where doing (with hitting multiple times in first digit) will travel over to the 6's .....

Thanks Maddog10 -369 came out last night, I had 2 of 3 on EACH pick but that doesn't help.  Did a little back checking lastnight for that last 10 months or so and noticed that in NY this system works for picking the first digit about the following-

Every 4.68 plays with the longest couple of plays not hitting 28, 20, 16 then then a bunch of 11's & 9's.

There were ALOT of times that it would REPEAT the next play.  Not sure yet how that helps.  I think for me its not going to be a 'system' on its own but more of a way to play the numbers I think are coming to get st8 hits vs boxed hits.  Gotta play a little more in real time and see.
