I wouldn't bother playing a lottery every week...

$15 million is fine with me.  I play consistently every week. Although large jackpots are nice, especially the $250 million, people do win with lesser amounts. So, each poster has his or her incentive for playing -- which I respect.

Just wait until the jackpot reaches over $250 million.  Then buy 1 ticket.  That is how all the jackpots are won.

Yeah, one ticket, but what "One" ticket with what "One" set of numbers, So........

Not me. I play whenever. I would take any of the jackpot sizes. And like the others have said, it doesn't make it to $250 million that often, so that isn't how all the jackpots are won.

I'm with you TSC,Anything will be okay with me right now.  Would I like 220 million? Yes!  Will I accept 20 million?  Yes!  Will I be happy with 2 million? Yes!"

So you would not like to win a "small prize" like 2 million dollars? That just stupid.

Most normal people would be overjoyed and happy to win even a small sum like that.

It looks like no one understood that I was joking.  It seems like most big jackpot winners only play when the jackpot is big and buy 1 ticket.

For someone on a budget that limits them to just playing a few times a year, it makes sense to only play when the jackpots are big but for others who can afford to buy a ticket or two for every drawing it might not.

             * you don't need to buy more tickets, just buy a winning ticket *

Posters, let's respect one another's reasons for playing -- whether it's for $250 million or $15 million. Each person's financial situation is different.

And most people just as well throw that dollar or dollars in the trash can for what good it will do them.  I used to buy powerball tickets and I'll win a little here and there but lost much more so stopped buying them......now it's just pick 3 for me.

You know what they say and it's true....your chances of getting struck by lightening are greater than your chances of winning the powerball.

With so many people buying them it's funny how so many people don't even come close to winning them and the ones that buy a lot of tickets are just plain stupid as that does NOT increase their chances of winning at all......one will do and forget it.
