Correction, self check - finger check. The Pick 4 determinant was posted earlier as the following.

      How It's Made - JADE Pick 3 Pick 4 Selector - Part 2

      In the previous post, we showed how JADE Pick 3 Pick 4 Selector uses the last two or three draws to come up with an approach to finding a possible next draw for either Pick 3 or Pick 4. The approach was to use a mathematical equation called a Determinant. In the last table, it showed a short list of Pick 3 numbers and a way to get a possible next draw.         How It's Made - JADE Pick 3 Pick 4 Selector - Part 3

        Now, there a few ways to select numbers from this list. First is a classic method that is fixed relative to the highest possible Determinant, the Zero Determinant. The classic method then expands out from there in both positive and negative values of the Determinant. Starting at the Zero, there are 4 possible Pick 3 combinations that can be selected.

        This can be confirmed with JADE Pick 3 Pick 4 Selector by entering the original Pick 3 numbers of 1 3 7 and 2 6 1, shown below. The selected numbers are in the 'Straight and/or Boxed Plays' listing.

        The Method Parameter controls the range above and below the Zero Determinant. As the value of the Method Parameter increases, the range of above and below the 0 expands. Going to a value of 1 means to find Determinant values of -1, 0 and 1. Going to a value of 2 means to find Determinants values of -2, -1, 0, 1, and 2. Below is the list of Pick 3 numbers that are in the range of -2 to 2.

        This can be confirmed with JADE Pick 3 Pick 4 Selector, shown next. Again, the selected numbers are in the 'Straight and/or Boxed Plays' listing.

        As the range expands, more numbers are selected. This works well because the Pick 3 Matrix Counts acts as a probability distribution; showing the most probable Pick 3 numbers based on Determinants. The following graph shows the expanding range.

        Selecting numbers using the Quantum Method requires the use of a different post we made a while ago. It is the Random Number Transforms - Normal Distribution. Since the distribution in the graph just above is fairly similar to a Normal Distribution, a Quantum Selection can be made using the Decimal function shown in the Random Number Transforms - Normal Distribution topic. The function randomly selects a Determinant Value that is consistent with a Normal Distribution curve and rounds it to an Integer value. The randomly selected value is then used to find Pick 3 values that will produce an equivalent determinant value. Since there is a possibility of many Pick 3 combinations that can satisfy this mach, only one of the possible combinations is randomly selected. A list of playable numbers is built till the total number of combinations is equal to the value indicated by the Method Parameter. Hence, the Method Parameter is changed from a Range based selection to a Plays based selection.

        Referencing the pervious list of potential Pick 3 combinations, if the Decimal function randomly selects -121.997, this is rounded to -122. Looking through the list of possible determinant values, there are 5 combinations that can be equal to -122.

        These translate in to Pick 3 numbers by subtracting 1 as follows.

        One of those combinations is selected as a playable Pick 3 combination; at random, it could be 5 7 2. This process is repeated until a complete list of playable combinations is generated. The quantity of playable combinations is given by the value in the Method Parameter setting. Below is an example of what this may look like on JADE P3 P4 Selector. The Method Parameter is set to 12. This means the process is repeated until there are 12 playable combinations in the 'Straight and/or Boxed Plays' listing. Also, note the Normal option is selected in the Method Parameter.

        There is another kind of Quantum Selection Method that is based on the Matrix Count Distribution. The process for randomly selecting combinations is very similar to the Normal Distribution method, except the equation used to derive the determinant value is more like the Matrix Counts distribution. This means the random process for selecting combinations is more like the actual drawing itself and with a much greater probability of getting a list of playable Pick 3 numbers that might match the real drawing. Below is an example of the Matrix distribution for the same drawing numbers above.

        The Matrix selection method is based on the equation y = e (15.6217472547849 - 0.00884693135609429 ×x). This equation is a curve that closely represents the positive values of the Matrix Counts Distribution. By taking the absolute value of x and then plugging in to the equation, the equation then becomes,  = e (15.6217472547849 - 0.00884693135609429 ×|x|) ; where |x| means the absolute value or only positive value. If x is a -1, it then becomes 1. Below is the Equation Matching Curve and the Matrix Counts Distribution.

        Matrix Quantum Selection samples from this curve to derive a determinant value in the same way that the Normal Quantum Selection samples from the Normal Distribution Curve to get it's determinant value.

        Another picking method is the Range Hybrid. This method uses a reverse indexing process to find a more accurate probability distribution. From the list of Matrix Counts we can see that the distribution is not continuous or smooth throughout the range of Determinant values.
