    I guess I don't understand the purpose of Selecting Geographic Area???

    It is really not a big deal -- just another way to choose the game you want to generate numbers for!

    1. One way to select a game:  Select the game TYPE (Pick 3, Pick 4, Pick 5, Pick 6, Games with Bonus Numbers, etc.)
    2. The other way to select a game:  Click the Select by Location button (i.e., GEOGRAPHIC AREA) and then choose the state/province/country from the popup menu.

    I think you're getting hung up on terminology.

      Just to be clear, this is not a system, it is a random number generator.  If it can help someone win something, that would be AWESOME, but more than anything, it's purpose is to produce very random numbers, i.e., numbers that when taken as a whole do not have artificial patterns in them that are caused by the fact that a computer generated the numbers.

      Most RNGs used on Web sites use the default randomizer that is part of the programming language the site is built with.  Such randomizers are very poor at producing good random number sets without artificial patterns.  In other words, if you analyzed a huge pool of random numbers generated by other Web sites, you may come across patterns of numbers that are created as a result of the poor randomizer in the software.

      The new Quick Picks Generator at Lottery Post uses an advanced cryptographic library in order to minimize those kinds of artificial patterns through the use of more sophisticated algorithms that are used to generate the numbers.

          Not bad for a random generator. A three match, a two match, and a smathering of additional single numbers throughout the grid.

            The curse of knowledge is that the more we know about something, the harder it is for us to explain it to someone who knows nothing about the topic (LP-QPG). We have a hard time being able to imagine what it's like not to know.

            We're all guilty of having the curse. We all have something in our life that we know very well - perhaps too well to explain easily. The key is know that the curse exists, and to be able to recognize the challenge before you. Consider every word. Sometimes a word that is completely natural to you can doom an explanation.

            Part of the problem with the curse of knowledge is that we assume too much. We make assumptions about what people do and don't know. The stronger the curse, the easier it is to assume. To get around the curse, you can either start with the basics, or get a feeling from your audience about what they know. Don't assume they speak your language or have your perspective.

            Selecting Geographic Area: Opens a popup menu: Where you Select the desired Location.

            This opens another Menu: With the Valid Game Types for the Selected Location.

            Examples:
            New Jersey
            * New Jersey Pick 3
            * New Jersey Pick 4
            * New Jersey Jersey Cash 5
            * New Jersey Pick 6
            * Mega Millions

            Oklahoma
            * Oklahoma Pick 3
            * Oklahoma Cash 5
            * Hot Lotto
            * Powerball

            The addition of the Geographic Area Menu/Valid Game Types Menu is a nice Touch to the QPG/RNG!

            A mind once stretched by a new idea never returns to its original dimensions!

                  Todd,

                  I was doing a spot check on the New LP QP for Wisconsin Megabucks 6/49. I selected 50 lines and one of the lines had a duplicate number among the 6. Below is a screen shot, see line 44 has a duplicate number; just happens to be 44:

                  Great job on the QP though, hope it is fully functional soon.

                    Thank you!  That is related to the sorting issue that others have pointed out.  I have fixed the issue in my development server, and will be deploying it later today/tonight.

                    Incidentally, the issue also affected the iPhone edition (since they are based on similar code), and I have fixed the issue there too.  So it was good that you all found it!

                      Hello All,

                      The sorting fix has been installed, so you should now only see random numbers sorted correctly.

                      The Keno games still need to be added, I'm working on that.

                        Todd, Michigan has Keno also, where Michigan draws 22 numbers out of 80 once daily at night. You don't have that listed will you have that in the future.

                        And also Michigan has Club Keno, where you can play 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 or 9 or 10 spot, which means, you pick like for example a 4 spot where you pick 4 numbers from 1-80 and see how many you can match like 3 out of 4 or 4 out of 4. Will you have that also in the future. So on Keno if I want to only play the 4 spot I would click Quick pick 4 numbers out of 80 and 4 random numbers would come out.

                        I like what I see so far.

                          Hi MichDew.  I'll be adding all Keno games, including Michigan for sure.  I doubt that I will be adding specialty bets like you're describing, but you never know.  There are so many different ways to play various games around the world that it would be tough to simulate all of those.  Instead, I may have some kind of custom randomizer that you can specify exactly what you want.  (e.g., "4 numbers between 1 and 80".)
