      Thing of it is, if we didn't have a sense of humor about ourselves in any of our endeavors, we would be too serious to laugh at ourselves.

      Look at history and you will find those who were ridiculed for unconventional thinking- some were even imprisoned and killed for their beliefs or studies. I for one, studied the occurrence of lightning strikes and ore bodies in remote Alaska with GPS records of strikes and geological data. Everyone thinks the event of a lightning strike is random because nobody has modeled it or even given much thought to something that is taken for granted as random. Well the Greeks tried to explain things around them with the first step in the scientific method and that is to make an observation. The god of the miners was Plutus also known as Hades. Zeus would throw bolts of lightning at where Hades was hiding because of a dispute. The miners did not have their noses in cell phones, ipods or game-boys. There was no TV. Early man was far more observant than we like to think he was. The miners described as best they could their observances and science though not perfect was explained in lore. Today's geological term Pluton comes from Greek descriptive words in mythology. Are we that modern that we cannot see the lost wisdom of the ancients, even as we use their terminology today?

      How about a single strike of lightning on documented gold bearing veins surrounded by hundreds of square miles of no activity? 100% spot-on. A random occurrence, or a unrelated coincidence? The world is flat only as far as you can see. What is your perspective?

      Pumpi and Psykomo though unconventional, are as relative as we are in every aspect that we believe there is a means or a way to define 'randomness' through a system. We are all freak'n nutz, but we know where the gold is! That is good for a laugh and I enjoy it!

      Randomness is an observation but that does not make it a true observation. The world is not flat. Let the world laugh us all the way to the bank! Quick pick is for the flatlanders.

          I voted for the "my numbers just haven't hit yet" ward AKA the "my numbers are gonna hit any day now" ward. LOL

          You would find me in the "still trying to figure out how to pick the winning numbers" ward HAHA

              How about a new entry:

              I was in line and got shut out ofc the drawing because;

              The person in front of me was;

              • Sending a Western Union
              • Buying cigarettes
              • Buying scratchers and scratching them at the counter (I see this often)
              • Flirting with the clerk
              • Filling a lot of playslips out
              • Playing a lot of tickets and wanting to just tell the clerk the numbers (I see this one a lot too....some stores here have a sign telling people more than three tickets requires a playslip)
              • Stroking the clerk in general, a ''stroker', being an intentional pain*
              • Other, let us know!

              *In the casinos, strokers are players who are out to work the dealers as much as they can for the smallest amount of money they can. Most of these clods are hopeless degenrate gamblers and have blown so much money over the years they know they'll never get even. Since they can't stop playing, they show up just to give the dealers a hard time.

              I see this in a lot of people at the lottery counter, too. I've also seen people at a scratcher vending machine buy tickets and scrath them right at the machine while other people are behind them waiting to buy tickets.

              Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

              Lep

              There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

                I've seen some of those people you refer to Coin Toss.

                There's a VA state line place I go to with a back room with the vending machines. You can feel the negative energy when you walk in the place. People guarding the machines so nobody gets the next ticket while they frantically scratch the one they just bought. All of them in foul moods cuz they keep losing. Really sad. I get out of there as quick as I can.

                  rdgrnr,

                  I just posted about this very thing in pepper1's thread about positive enrgy, just before I saw this!

                  Wherever there's gambling or lotto, there's strokers!

                  Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.
