What do you think your particular state could do to improve it's lottery?
Would you like to see them add particular games, drop a certain game and switch to another, get rid of computers, televise drawings, increase frequency of certain games to a daily basis, have twice daily drawings on certain games? Or anything else?
What exactly could your state do to make you happy and have you participate more in their lottery?
Name your state and say what you'd like to see changed there to make your lottery better. (You never know who might be reading this - you might give them an idea)

I'd like them to get rid of the computorized drawings . I like to play keno ,but nobody hardly ever wins the 250,000. and the odds are not that bad. I feel like i don't have a chance matching wits with a computor.

sully16 is so right about computorized drawings..Here in KY the 3 line lotto is drawn by computer and that's the only game like that and I wish it was ping pong balls I trust that better..I also would like to see the midday draw on TV like they do the night draw..

I'd like MDSL to drop their contract with WBAL TV and get back to honest drawings. ( I know Four4me doesn't agree with this)
I'd also like MDSL to disconnect the communications that go on between the computers that registers the numbers and money that is taken in on Keno and Ractrax games and the numbers that that they put out on each game.
I did a test, not too long ago. I played several games of keno where I picked 70 of the 80 numbers for the keno using the patterns that were playing nearly constantly at that time. Darn if the pattern didn't change. It was not so funny but the numbers that started coming out were so scattered and off the previous pattern that I could only conclude the game was fixed. I played approximately 5 games at a total of $35.00 and decided I couldn't waste any more money.
This problem seems to have worsened since Buddy has left MDSL.

State: WA
I would like to see more games with better odds. As for computers, well it's hard to trust something that can be programmed like the print feature of a QP v Betslip tickets at the counters & self-serve kiosks. Two different printing speeds are a software feature to discourage using betslips, after all, don't most people play QP?

I'm pretty happy with the way Texas does things. Real ball drawings. Good games, transparency.
I do wish they would trash the Cash 5 game. It's a 5/37 game, odds are 435,897 to 1. It doesn't roll when it's not hit, and it will go as long as 10 or 12 draws before someone does win the jackpot. The payout is usually around $25,000, sometimes less, and it's parimutuel. Compared to other states pick 5 games, it plain sucks.
I would like to see Texas bring in a P5 numbers game like PA's Quinto. Odds are 100,000 to 1 for $50,000 straight hit. Not easy to hit I know, but a lot better than what we have now. The only benefit of Cash 5 is that there are lower tier prizes unlike Quinto, but I don't play to win $2 or $10.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.....PLEASE!!
I really like that idea about disconnecting the computers that give numbers out from the ones that issue the winning numbers.
That would be a big step towards credibility. (Though real drawings would still be better)

When did I ever say I enjoyed watching WBAL do the lottery numbers, I spent considerable time corresponding with WBAL and the Maryland lottery trying to get them to air the drawings at the specific times as listed on their web site. I also emailed Buddy about Michael Enright complaining about the lottery interrupting the super bowl half time event to air the drawings. Which ultimately led to this.
Here are some facts drawings cannot/willnot be aired during any televised live sports event. Saturdays midday draw cannot be aired because a federal law says no gambling event can take place during kiddy shows.
If anything i would like to see them return to WJZ.

Ahahahahahahahaha..............would'n that be something then every bet wouldn't get paid because there were no communications with the central computer to verify what numbers were played against what numbers were drawn, I explained many times Keno 3 minute games are a take in pay out sort of game like a one arm bandit they pay a percentage of the take in....... on each and every draw.
What needs fixing MD lottery needs to set up a web page to show all the payout figures for every drawing they hold, - how many people played the pick 3/4/5 games and what the payout's were.
They need to update their online video of every drawing they have during the week and stop skipping days and omitting drawings from the online video sequence.
They need to put up a downloadable format of the complete history of lottery numbers in Excel like they used to have on their web site.
And it wouldn't hurt them to allow the VIP's to be polled on any changes they expect to implement.

State: Oregon
Do away with computer generated lottery drawings
Increase the prize money for nonjackpot wins
Improve the state web site - like have a better statistical section and post winning stores (I like Washington State's map that shows where stores that have sold winning tickets are located)
