For my state, they need to get rid of computer drawings and start using ball drawings. They also should add a Pick 4 game and they need to redo the Pick 5 game. It is horrible. It has bad odds and a horrible payout. I don't want two crappy drawings in one night where the payout is $20,000 with having to pick from 36 numbers. My state needs to look at how other states do their Pick 5 games.

I think California should
1)Get rid of that Daily Derby draw thing or whatever it is. That is one game that only QP could possibly win (the jackpot) since the odds of predicting all races and exact times are almost unheard of.
2) Bring Powerball! Some of us hate Mega Millions and want to give powerball a try.
3) MAKE SURE THAT THEY ARE LEGIT! Not have some secret conspiracy that controls the outcome of the games and make sure it truly is random! (I know, I'm paranoid but trying to get over it.)
4) Give us the Powerplay like Texas has, it seems California is so afraid of having too many people win extra money that they hold back ways they could actually Make money!
5) Ask TEXAS to show them how its done! Texas doesnt seem to be afraid to have their people win!
6) Stop spending so much money on advertising, make word of mouth be their marketing. Theres nothing stronder than hearing of someone's win that will get me excited and hyped up and spending more!

TSC,
Everytime you write about that crappy $20K initial payout for your Pick 5, I want to fly down there and choke your lottery officials. The Odds of that are so high I think that is an seriously unfair payout amount. How high have you seen it grow? I think the highest I've ever seen our Fantasy Five grow to is about $317K but they said it can go to $500K.
Maybe Texas should invite the lottery officials of other states to a Lottery seminar, with California and Idaho in the front row taking serious notes ------ and be tested afterwards.

Hey lottocalgal, when you get through in Idaho could you fly here to Tennessee and choke our lottery officials too? We'd really appreciate it.

My State is New York, The big apple, and they could give you more $$$ for a three out of 5 win, for those people like my friend who is always playing pick 5, Instead of sold-out numbers- add a sold out pick 3 and pick 5 to the game where if you win you get lesser money and keep you with your favorite number in the game; As well as causing the state to bring out the number; not having to hold it back, because they don't want to take a big hit!!!

When did I ever say I enjoyed watching WBAL do the lottery numbers, I spent considerable time corresponding with WBAL and the Maryland lottery trying to get them to air the drawings at the specific times as listed on their web site. I also emailed Buddy about Michael Enright complaining about the lottery interrupting the super bowl half time event to air the drawings. Which ultimately led to this.
Here are some facts drawings cannot/willnot be aired during any televised live sports event. Saturdays midday draw cannot be aired because a federal law says no gambling event can take place during kiddy shows.
If anything i would like to see them return to WJZ.

I'd also like MDSL to disconnect the communications that go on between the computers that registers the numbers and money that is taken in on Keno and Ractrax games and the numbers that that they put out on each game.
Ahahahahahahahaha..............would'n that be something then every bet wouldn't get paid because there were no communications with the central computer to verify what numbers were played against what numbers were drawn, I explained many times Keno 3 minute games are a take in pay out sort of game like a one arm bandit they pay a percentage of the take in....... on each and every draw.
What needs fixing MD lottery needs to set up a web page to show all the payout figures for every drawing they hold, - how many people played the pick 3/4/5 games and what the payout's were.
They need to update their online video of every drawing they have during the week and stop skipping days and omitting drawings from the online video sequence.
They need to put up a downloadable format of the complete history of lottery numbers in Excel like they used to have on their web site.
And it wouldn't hurt them to allow the VIP's to be polled on any changes they expect to implement.

I should have disconnected my statement a little. I meant, I felt you would disagree with me concerning the statement about having HONEST drawings. I agree, I would like to see the drawings back on WJZ. WBAL is doing a p.... poor job, and boring.
Concerning the statement about disconnecting the communications between computers, I recently read a disclaimer on another States's lottery site which was explaining the process and procedures the State is using while formating their new Keno game. The site explored and explained that the intake and output computers do not communicate. My understanding of this is that one computer determines and displays the numbers to be picked for each game which is not determined by what was taken in by the first computer. There must be some communication back to the intake computer for a payout.

I just looked at your state lottery report card and it says all of your games are real drawings.
Are these new games they just added?
No...
The Keno and Racetrax are computerized video games that are displayed and played at lottery retailers. Most of the retailers have little areas set up for people to sit around and play the games at their leisure. You can find these video games in Bars, Restaurants, Convenient stores, Gas Stations with Convenient Stores, Super Markets, Liqure Stores.
The games are fast, fun and addictive. MDSL makes big profits off of these games.

I'd like them to get rid of the computorized drawings . I like to play keno ,but nobody hardly ever wins the 250,000. and the odds are not that bad. I feel like i don't have a chance matching wits with a computor.
Ooooh sully, Computorized? let's see... could that be another name for Non-randomes?? Computers my neighbors baby knows, can be and are Programed!!!! But lets play on! They have to make money and we are going to make money!!!

The procedure for drawing the balls hasn't changed....... clue me in on what makes you think the drawings are dishonest.
The contract with WJZ expired and as per the lottery's rules they have to offer the contract for bidding and WBAL won the bid probably the lowest bid of all the stations. WBAL knew they were getting a bargain because they wouldn't have to televise certain drawings since they also had the contract to do many sports related shows.
Keno payout's in Maryland are second to scratch offs. you must not be playing during the optimum times.
Lunch, Dinner, during sporting events, when it's raining, these are the times when the most bets are being placed in 3 minute intervals and therefor should be the times when the most money is being paid out. Considering the amount of players and the option to double or triple your bets the 146 million they paid out is pale compared to what they took in.
I've tried many conceivable methods to win at keno betting as many as 20 tickets at a time sometimes i even have like a 100 slips filled out and put them in different order just to try and outwit the computer. I've come to the conclusion it's all luck if you are lucky you'll win. It's hard to beat a computer at it's own game.
Sill i saw this guy walk in and put a 20 dollar bet on his birthday 4 numbers for one game and he won that game nice payday. I've seen people who never played keno before in their lives win all night long. (beginners luck).
Remember the more money you place on a bet, increases your odds of winning.
from MD lottery.
