I am sure everyone here wants to win...why else would you be playing...but how bad do you need to win? What 3 things going on in your life would a big win help with the most?
1. I have medical stuff I need done and medical bills that need paid.
2. I have been out of work because of illness and even though I am better I can't find anything...like I have been black listed or something.
3. I live with family in a run-down shack(I am not kidding) with no hot water and the place needs condemned...I would just love to have my own house and a new vehicle(my much older current one needs repairs).
All in all I need to win pretty bad.
I am going to stop some of you before you start with..."The lottery doesn't care if you need it or not..." We all know that.
I also just find it sad I can't even get help with any of this in my own community...which is bad because when I was working and had money I helped out alot of people.

1) I've been out of work since late October and I am completely broke. The only reason I am not living out on the streets is because my sister pays the rent and bills and my parents only helps a little. All the jobs I've applied to have been dead ends and I have been looking for months.
2) I'm going back to school to get a proper degree but I am not qualified for financial aid AND I still have about $25,000 in student loans to repay from culinary school. Even if I go back to cooking professionally full time, I would not be able to survive on my own because the pay sucks. I might be able to if I work 2 full time jobs though.
3) Even though I am going back to school, my future in this path is not very certain as I lack the money to pay for school. If I get a job my schedule would be split and getting my degree will take even longer.

1) You've been out of work, and the only reason you're not on the street is because your sister is helping out. That's very noble of her, she's your sister. But you wouldn't be on the streets because you have culinary talents. You can always get a room in a nice house that meets with some of your requirements at least. They're out there. In my case, It's was nice for me to have a place of my own at one point, and it was great, but I was working so hard to pay for that apartment, I was never really there to enjoy it. I did eventually move on to finding rooms and saved a lot of money by sharing apartments or houses with cool people. Some weren't that cool, but that's life. You do what you have to do sometimes. And it paid off because I saved over 10,000 dollars.
2) Forget school for now. Get the basics down pat, then move to the schooling. But remember this, you spent 25 grand on culinary school and it didn't work out too well. Now you owe 25 grand. Make sure the next schooling endeavor is the right thing to do, considering there would be another loan to contend with.
3 ) Read number 2.
P.S. If you want to make cash everyday, drive for a semi-upscale car service. Maybe until you get back on your feet. That's what I do for a living. I did it for the first time in New York, back in 1992, and I was hooked. The hours can be long, but it paid the bills and and then some. I have no boss looking over my shoulder, breathing down my back. I work 3 long days consecutively, and get 4 days off in a row.

What exactly is a semi upscale car service?
It's basically an airport limo service. Not stretch limos, unless that's what you want to do, but If that's not your thing, find a car service that has nice sedans to drive folks around, mostly to the airport, and back to their residence. Most of the services automatically apply a 20% gratuity to the fare. If not, more than half will give you between 10 and 20 percent. Don't worry that you can't find your way around. Spend a hundred bucks or so and buy a GPS. The majority of the people know where they're going anyways....to their home...lol
Edit: I forgot to mention that you get 50% of the fare, on top of the gratuity.

I thought professional cooks made good money. Does the pay really suck like that ? You must be making at least 30K+ to not qualify for financial aid or your either under 25 like me who's parents make to much for financial aid .....

You only make "good" money if you're a head chef at a popular restaurant or a food network chef like Bobby Flay. The typical cooks make anywhere from $8-$14. You won't see higher than that very often unless it's some high end Michellin stared restaurant. The last job I had paid $12 which is about $23k before taxes. I think that is a bit higher than the average retail sales associate but the job is definitely more demanding. $23k is alright if you're living with your parents and trying to save money or have multiple roomates and low expenses.
I was denied financial aid because I attended culinary school and had too many credits and I'm under 25. I do however get a fee waiver so I don't have to pay for classes only which is awesome.

That's the dirty little secret of the culinary world. These cooking schools lure people with all kinds of promises then they go out into the real world with a debt of anywhere from 30-50K, which they'll never pay off on $12 an hour. And for every Emeril there's 10,000 saps chopping onions and on fryer duty for life.
I worked in the restaurant business for a while, and if I had a dollar for all the culinary school grads I met who regretted it I wouldn't have to play the powerball!
Culinary school is okay, but only if you're doing it for fun and can afford it.
Hang in there, pal. It'll get better.
"...a chance to push everything aside, the circumstances that've controlled our lives, and do it our way now. Good, bad or otherwise. You'll maybe get lost in it, tied up in it a little bit, but if you work your way through that the real you shows up, I think. Maybe what's at your core deep down, maybe that comes out. Maybe that's what it's about." Mike Pace

I started to play because my dying mother always wanted me to pick up some tickets for her. My brother was diagnosed with aml (acute myloid leukemia-15% survival rate if you can afford treatment). My father committed suicide in 1995 so there was no one else. I hoped each day as the lottery grew I would win so I could save their lives. I have an autoimmune system problem and anxiety worsens it. I can't afford treatment for myself but I was working but the recession of 2000 had taken hold. I supported my mother and my brother by playing cards at the casino. I could bring home a couple thousand each night. Far more than I was earning at the tool and die company. If you tell them you are sick, the company will fire you as a burden to productivity. (welcome to at will employment) This was desperation at its greatest. My brother was circling, mother was bedridden, I couldn't get help and the bills continued.
Long story, god I can't go on with the details, short they suffered beyond all belief and died. We couldn't afford the treatments (transplants) which require hundeds of thousands of dollars. I was left with enormous debt but I negotiated that down and paid it off. Unfortunately, this took a toll on me. I eventually lost my tool and die job and my memory capacity. My diabetes has gone out of control and I can't afford doctors still. I work as much as the employer will let me at a pizzaria deliverying pizza. (I depend on the kindness of others.) I kept my brother's dying wish to take care of our mother and his cat and my mother's dying wish to take care (as much as possible) of her dogs. I lost my home which I invested 50k in to bring it back from a shack but I was happy to move away from the ghosts of my family. I now live in the city but this nasty depression is killing business and the stress is destroying my health. I don't gamble at the casino (blacklisted) because they play mindgames to upset me and make sure I lose. Haven't won a thing there in a while but I quit 2 years ago and glad I don't go back.
I would love to win because I could go to the doctor for treatment of my diabetes, lupus maybe my memory and my dental work. I could keep my home and not worry constantly about my dwindling capacity to work and the loss of my employment. I could help my extending family who are also suffering in this depression. I would also like to hold the people who dumped the carbon tetrachoride in the drinking water and the nuclear materials processing center that put uranium and other toxins in the air accountable. There are many other familys in our area who have suffered also. My next door neighbor lost his children to brain cancer and 3 people on our street died from breast cancer another two had it but survived. Sickness is prevalent where I used to live.
At my current job, I am experiencing mobbing. Another employee got jealous of my bonuses (at a pizzaria) and began to run me down to other employees. This continued for the last four years and now management is beginning to listen. I just worked harder and hoped it would die out. I guess it is better to accuse that be the accused. My work is questioned and more is demanded of me than the other employees. I am depressed and have nightmares. I need a better job but doubt my capacity to have one. I do and want to work but it is hard with this inescapable anxiety it is difficult.

I agree with you Nino. I have my Associates in Pastry Arts from a Culinary school here in Pittsburgh. Let me tell you, if I had to do it all again, I wouldn't. Don't get me wrong, it was a great experience, but it's not as glamourous as your made to think. Once I graduated in 2000 I made minimum wage, so that didn't last for long. I ended up finding another job, outside of cooking, where I made almost twice as much. I tell people if your going to go, do it for the experience, but don't think your going to make $100,000 getting right out of school, or even $50,000 for that matter. There is a lot of nepitism in that field. Right now I'm working on my bachelor's in Business, at least I know I can take that degree anywhere.
Getting back to the topic at hand, I don't know if I need to win that BAD. I am a typical American who wants the dreams and buying power incredible wealth can bring. I'm not even middle class, but I work and go to school. I'd like to not worry about bills, or work paycheck to paycheck. I'd also like to help out those who selflessly gave their time and money to help me out when I needed it the most.;)
