No one was really bashing you. The way you posed the question in the OP sounded like a "Lotto Conspiracy Theory" or Lottery Tin Hat Theory.

Hey, that might make a good thread!

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

to me it's really not about how long before it expires

it's what happens in the prize money -- that should of been  rewarded to the players

take for instance Powerball , if someone was to win the jackpot and not claim it by the time expires date

the money would go back to each individual state and the players would get nothing. So, you could've played many tickets and help grow that very same jackpot

only four to end up in the states coffers

the state already get over 50% in most games, and then there's the prize money

to take what was rightfully the prize money to be given to the player base

and give it back to the state isn't right, they are giving us the players. The middle finger

take for instance, recent history where a $1 million Powerball prize expired

originally, that money came from people on Powerball

that money doesn't go back into the prize pool

my idea to fix this is frankly to take all legal unclaimed prizes . A gigantic raffle to all loser tickets and randomly picked one of them to receive the prize money

this way , if some idiot does not claim it in time, someone else who pays attention will get

just like if a Powerball jackpot goes unclaimed  I would want the money re-entered into the current jackpot amount

this way the players who contributed to jackpot prize pool sure has a chance of winning and not the states, winning their own lottery

this is mostly just a matter of respect. They do not respect their player base for

if they did, they would rightfully make sure the player base gets what was rightfully ours to begin with. The Prize pool we funded

this is in fact bitting the hand that feeds you. They do it because they can get away with it

they're great that's what comes to

they are 100% greedy ,CEOs and top officials get a bonus amount depending on how much they earn for the state that year

so of course they are in fact encourage to take as much away from the player base as possible. If they can get away with it

    so don't claim in time

the money goes to the states and not the players. Just how is

however this is what happens when you have a monopoly of the state government

if any state had real competition

that would know to treat the players with respect the states would be forced to follow suit

however long as they can have a monopoly on gambling

unless you end monopolys on the lottery you  really won't change the standards of current lotteries policies

    however I keep playing happily

just hoping to God players who actually do win money won't give it to state because they're too stupid to checkto see if they are in fact a winner or loser

what can you do the stupid people play it

however you have to remember though that we want as  many people  to play as possible

because at the end of the day they fund our jackpots and prizes

the people who actually know they won  something and have the brains to claim

so that's the life of being a lottery player your pairs are not the brightest people on earth

i dont know what´s the percentage, but what is it: 25% of the USA population is elderly...not insulting anyone but not 100% mental capacity....Thus, 25% of lottery players are elderly or senile people...

"...not insulting anyone but not 100% mental capacity...."

I agree pumpi, we must remember that there are people like tiggs playing the lottery.
