went to foxwoods casino today. started out with a $500 even money roulette bet won so i made $500. should of let it ride but i wanted to have fun at the slots. got a bonus symbol on my second spin and won 300 credits ( $5 a credit ). up a quick $2 grand... a blackjack losing streak and more slots losses cut that down to $300 so I left with $300 profit. I just didnt want to leave after only 10 minutes playing i was up $2 grand but whatever. still a lot better than playing scratch offs imo ....

Finished the pack last night and it hit for $82+$3 cash 5. I didnt plan to buy the roll. Just kept happening I was buying the same tickets and getting consecutive tickets. I used winners from 000-012. Then played $99 worth to get to ticket 046. Then kept using winners to get to to ticket 071 and then spent $84(-$10 winner($74 total)) for the remainder of the pack. Pack totalled roughly $185-$190 total return. Not the worse and better than my previous pack.

I took Gamegirls advice and got one each of all the green tickets. 3D Cash Cube, Eagles, Emerald 8, 7-Up, Whole Lotta, 2 bins of Pot of Gold and Gus Bucks. I think I got them all. I left thgem in the car and didnt play, but it was $25 worth. Pocketed the other $60.. I will scratch them this weekend and let everyone know.

      James please take care.

For awhile I wasn't posting because I actually was a little uneasy about what I was seeing but just like

alcoholics, unless they make a firm commitment to changing their lifestyle nothing anyone else says or

does has an effect on how they think. So, I went back to posting some winners thinking, while it was

an enticement, my winners weren't going to affect your thinking...and neither were anyone else's.

It feels good to win but also feels good to have control. I'm going out of my way here and probably will

be looked down on but someone has to say something.

I remember saying once to you James that buying a ticket here and there was probably a good way to

go. I remember you brushing it off and saying, yeah, I think I'll try it. Posts later you were buying packs

      and packs.

A couple at the most from one bin or counter at a time is still, in my opinion, the very best way to go on

      the $20 tickets, up to 4 at a time on the $5's, max 3 on the $10's of one game/one store - 5 - 10 $2's

and up to 20 at a time $1's.

At the risk of sounding like a strong arm...oh well...I believe you're in deep and should probably go check

out GA. It's easy to by-pass or ignore a situation because it is uncomfortable but now that I've got that

much out, I'm over the hump.

Who are you to me and why should I care? Well, you are a fellow poster who I've has associations

with for months in this forum. I like your posts and laughed with you, wtg'd you, read with interest

your results and looked forward to coming to this forum after logging in to get the latest and hope for

the best, for you especially. To shy away from you now would be wrong. I know the first thing on your

mind must be to get out and recoup losses or get gambling but if you have the time, I think it would be

much better spent going back to the time where you won the $4,000 and reading your posts from that

      point on.

This is the last time I'll say anything and I don't need anyone to like, agree with or comment on anything

I said if they don't like it....I didn't do it for you, I did it for James....and anyone else who wanted to say

something but didn't feel it was appropriate.

The old battlewagon should be buzzing around soon banging the drum and sounding the horn to stay

on topic....Roll Eyes....this IS topic. Cold fish and cold hearts were never a few of my favorite things.

      Good luck James.

If anyone needed proof of how bad the PA Lottery is, I have it right here. I got 19 Whole Lotta Hundreds (#022-040), and all I got were 2 free tickets!! 12 or 13 losers in a row in there, too. I don't care if someone won $100 right before - that is unacceptable.

Just a comment about gambling and drinking. The two sometimes go hand in hand. Alcoholism is a disease - ask any shrink. AA produces about a 6% (according to the their brochures) cure out of all the sufferers. Gambling may also be a disease but is not covered by insurance. Gambling seems to be an immediate gratification issue along with a lack of impulse control.  GA meetings have many members who continue to gamble because they cannot stop. There are - as you may know - many deep obscure issues that make people gamble and drink to excess.

Your advice to James may be well taken, but if he really does what he says abouting gambling and it affects his life in a negative way (assuming he is not a Walter Mitty) only he may or may not decide what to do. The issue goes way beyond commitment. Your post makes me wonder if you're projecting ?

My observations/comments are based on experience. I stopped drinking years ago and am working on getting a grip on buying lottery tickets :) It's not easy. If I find the answer I'll share it with others, but I will not give advice.

          Best Wishes

Here's how it went with Whole Lotta Nothing:

            #022 - loser

            #023 - free ticket

            #024-035 losers

            #036 - free ticket

            #037-040 losers

            Disgraceful. Just disgraceful.

Nice batch. I like the 3 in a row. I have gotten 3 of them so far. ticket 000 hit $40. different store I had 006/009 and both lost. I was tempted to go back, but didnt need to chase a $20 win after 4 tickets. Like Matt, I might be done for awhile. I will save a few bucks for when I go back to work and can play at the store I seem to do well at. My luck there will already be a big winner hanging up. I will be upset if it is 000, since he generally opens the new packs for me.

Jiggin.... Did your tickets feel rough on the back? My one win was very rough in texture. The 2 losses were smooth like the front. I am going to assume it was just the batch, but thought it might be worth noting if there is more to it. It was rough enough that I instantly noticed it.

                omiller315,

The tickets were all flimsy. None of them felt like "real" tickets. As far as the winners having a rough backing, I did not take notice. However, I hit for $50 today on one of them and it kind of felt a bit more "meaty" or thicker haha. -jj

Yeah, I guess we don't need extra anger in our lives. I don't think I will quit completely, but I think I'll just play a couple tickets for fun each day. At least $20 doesn't get me as angry as spending $50 and getting 2 free tickets plus a $5 win on Hot $100,000.

Wow Matt..that is disgraceful..sorry to hear that..haven't posted in awhile..layed off the tickets for awhile..got 1 or 2 here or there but nothing to brag about..losers..or maybe the ticket price..

the scratch off's just lost their appeal to me anymore..with each new batch of tickets they come out with they get crappier and crappier..they used to be so much better years ago..but they just plain stink anymore..

You just feel like you are losing a losing battle..I know there r winners out there but I'm not going to chase them anymore.. I have to stick to the idea that if it is meant to be then it is meant to be..it only takes one ticket..not hundreds..

Some lady won $50,000 on a quick pick Quinto a couple of weeks ago..at the store I buy my tickets at..we might have a better chance of winning on that..than these stupid rip offs..i mean scratch offs...LOL..

And when you just don't have that special luck (which I don't,) it's time to go easy - I agree. I never win at Powerball or Mega Millions, though. This was the thing that made me change strategy - nothing over $30 for sure unless it's a rare day.

I agree..my hubby plays powerball, mega, cash 5, quinto, and 3 digit..I sometimes play a number here or there..did win in april on 9992..and won $650..so that was good..

My husband keeps telling me that i'd be better off playing numbers..but i really did enjoy the scratchers..but it gets really frustrating losing, losing and losing..

he said you don't get as mad when when your numbers don't come up, but when you play scratchers they make you feel like a loser, and make you mad..

I'm starting to think that maybe he is right..when you start to get angry about losing on scratchers it is time to take a step back..when you mood depends on if you win or lose..and all the fun went out of them..then you realize that you are wasting your time, not to mention money..on something that should be for fun...

I Just have to get back to the attitude of If I win great, and if I don't then it is ok too...just do it for fun...not to get rich...

I've read several stories like that about TN. Yeah, PA may still be better than that, but still not worth spending a lot of money. As I said before, I think PA is "below average."

he said you don't get as mad when when your numbers don't come up, but when you play scratchers they make you feel like a loser, and make you mad..

Good advice. Well, let's hope we win something with reduced spending.
