I think I'm down $300 or $400 so far this year. My goal, of course, is to win a big JP. My secondary goal is to at least break even as I work on the JP.

So far this year I've played 20 times and had a winning ticket 10 of those times but I'm down $276. When the overall odds of having a winning tickets are 1/36 - 1/54  and you spend $10 - $20 each time you play, even it you have a winning ticket (worth $2 - $10) every time you play, you're going to end up in a hole unless you win one of the higher tier prizes.

       * you don't need to buy more tickets, just buy a winning ticket *

I'm down but the lotto is part of my entertainment budget. I'd rather buy a $1 lotto ticket than rent a lousy DVD.

I think anyone that plays on a regular basis is going to be down unless a jackpot is won. Unless someone buys 1 ticket only and wins more than the ticket price, I think its safe to say everyone is behind.

I think I would do pretty good matching 5of5 +0 playing either PowerBall or MegaMillions without winning the jackpot.

                  Unfortunately I'm down about 7000-7500

I've had a bunch of $100 winners and a $250 winners (made $210 profit thatday) but I always spend my profit back on tickets. For all the money I'vewasted on the lottery, I expected at least a $500 winner or more. I've spent$400+ on scratch-offs before from different locations, bought only tickets atthe end of the roll, etc but still no wins worth mentioning. And I've done thatover a dozen times. I've bought $500 dollar $10 ticket rolls twice and came outwith $365 both times.

I think this summer when I start my job, I will set $40-$60 dollars a weekto play tickets on Friday night and keep whatever I make and accept my loses. If I've made enough to spare some change maybe I'll buy a ticket or two with mywinnings and call it a night.

I know the feeling. The volume I have been playing lately I would of expected some $500 winners already but they have not come.

The odds just get worse and worse with each new ticket that gets released. When $5 and $10 tickets used to be 1 in 2.95 I was making profit. You just cant anymore when 1 in every 5 tickets win. Have to hope for that big winner these days or go home empty handed.

ive never kept a ledger of expenses and winnings. i look at lotto like a retirement fund, when i win ill retire.

over 25 years playing. and around $450 avg a year.  my only regret isnt coming up with my plan to have the winnings pay for new bets, early on in the peice like 20 years ago lol.

The craziest thing for me is I have played 20.00 of pick 3 tickets win nothing, next day only play 1.00 (2/.50cent) tickets and hit!
