The jackpot for Friday night's multi-state Mega Millions lottery draw now stands at $151 million, the largest since January 4th, when a $380 million mega-jackpot was split by two winning tickets from Idaho and Washington.
The lump-sum cash payout of Friday's jackpot is $94.3 Million, if the winner decides to take the whole thing at once.
The lottery drawing, set for 11 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, will be the 11th since the last time a ticket was sold that matched all six numbers drawn.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 175,711,536.
Mathematicians have long said there is no advantage to purchasing a ticket in a state or at an outlet where previous big-money winning tickets have been sold. The odds of a big-money winning ticket sold in a particular state or outlet is wholly dependent on the number of tickets sold there. Each individual ticket has the exactly same odds of winning the jackpot, no matter where it is purchased.
The Mega Millions game is played in 41 states plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The winning numbers will be published at USA Mega (www.usamega.com) minutes after the drawing takes place.

Is it just me or does anyone else get a little more excited when they find out nobody has won the jackpot? LOL
I usually buy my tickets at a grocery store or mini mart instead of gas station, because that's where jackpot hit the most.

I dont understand why somebody in another country cannot buy

keep your eye on 2nd prize winners, if their more then 23, aka 46 total mega balls, that means it has started to sur pass the 50% of all numbers played,
as people buy repeats sells numbers only part of the total numbers played can be guested at.
, or if the jackpot has 5 or more numbers below 31, at which point ever single player that plays calader days, where beeped at it being hit must likly being hit on that roll
for the chances in the players overall favor to win the jackpot, the sells will need to be in 200m range jackpots

Looking at your post made me go back to what happened in Dec 2010/Jan 2011 and how fast the jackpot grew.....
Once the jackpot reached $168M on Dec 24, 2010 it took off from there.........it just might happen that fast again!
For the record, here was the run:

Monday, Dec 27, 2010 Jackpot = $196M

What if it grows past the previous large jackpot say 400 Million the person that won that or people that won would have to move to Peru or Japan or somewhere eles but America becuase they would be a household name!

Look at the Harris' ($275m), Chris Shaw ($258m), Chaney/West famillies ($340m) and the Lerner's ($258m). Those were some of the highest ever jackpots but they're still keeping low, you just have to be smart about everything. The problem with Jack Whitaker and Abraham Shakespeare is they just either didn't get the advice they needed or they went crazy with the money. If we did have a $400 million winner and they were smart about it I don't think they'd have any issue living here.
Thankfully there are states that allow trusts and anonymous collecting, so not everyone has to worry about the issues that come with winning the lottery. I know if I won even the smalles jackpot I would collect via a trust.
I honestly hope it rolls 4-5 more times, it would be interesting to see if it would get close to breaking 400. The jackpot on August 28 2009 make a nice leap from the previous (+84 mil), but the jackpot on May 4, 2010 didn't really have the same go as the Jan 4 2011 run did. It might of been the perfect storm with xmas and the new year happening (the spending season). Only time will tell.
Of course it would be nice to win the jackpot. Lately, ive been wanting to win the match 5+0 $1,000,000 megaplied/powerball powerplayed prize. I just want my mom to retire, and buy a nice single family house with a garage. She's 51 and works two jobs cleaning houses and working at a supermarket.
i also would like to get my mom to retire... she works 2 jobs also plus my dad is not in good health, so when i can not be here she has to be in two places at once. i want to win for them if i won the 5+0 with out a megaplier i would just give it to them... if i won the 1 million i would spit it with them! 500K before taxes is good enough for both of us!
However, the entire jackpot would be my chance to really help them. i would form a trust and give them half! they can really be set for the rest of there life... and mine too!
